How can someone make their group many members....??

I observed that most groups have many members, and I wonder how they advertise or something to make the members of their group lot....many.

Depending on the type of group you have, come up with a fun unique logo that depicts the group's purpose. Include the logo and a link to the group in your email signature so it is easily seen and readily accessible to anyone you communicate with on-line.  You may also want to schedule regular meetings of your group members to discuss important topics of interest.  And ask other group members to include a link to the group in their email signatures.

most people don't look at the groups home page but once, unless it's a photo group. so I wouldn't spend too much time on making some grand homepage when you're the only one looking at it. you could have a grand looking homepage and a real dead non active group just the same.

most people will read the description, so spend time on that.

for larger groups that have many members, look at when they were created, and topic also matters. some topics just are not going to gain memberships as other popular topics do-

I have never advertised my groups- I gain members by word of mouth but more so just people scrolling the directory, and in my groups, no one hardly ever returns to the homepage or based joining on it's appearance.

this has a lot to do with the type of group they have. For example, i have 4 different groups. My group is all about pool online. One of them, all the members join, including the Staff we have. On another, it's staff only,so that's a lot lesss than the members one. We have one for Supervisors which is a lot less than the Staff.

Depending on the what the group is used for, you advertise it differently. I have my group on my profile and we also email it to our members from the site that we use to play online games. I also have it linked to that site too.

Probably the best way is to ask your friends to join and word of mouth as they ask their friends to join.

Start by making your site look sharp.  Choose custom colors a good photo and welcoming message.   Click edit beside description on your cover page, scroll down and you will find where to do all that. Send an email to all your friends and relatives with the URL pasted in explaining the group and inviting them to join and asking them to forward the message to their friends and relatives asking the same.  Periodically post a message asking the members reminding them that new members are always welcome and ask your members for suggestions.  Add moderators as your group grow and ask them for more input. HTML links to other sites which are pertinent to your group add color and interest to your cover so add them by pasting the codes in just below your welcome message and email their webmasters asking them to do the same.  You can also add a hit counter to your cover page.  To find them just do a search for “free hit counters”, there are lots available.   Put first posts on moderation that way you won’t get spammers.  If a member’s first post is spam, ban them right there and then.  One thing to keep in mind it isn’t necessarily the number of members your group has but the participation which makes a group interesting.  Good luck, take your time and it will grow,
