  1. The short answer is no, you won't get into vet school if you are bad at math because you need to apply it frequently to calculate dosages and stresses and such.  I am also bad at math except for algebra, but you just have to accept that it eliminates your options to some career paths.  If you are very motivated to get into vet school, I would recommend that you get math tutoring.  It can make a huge difference.

Poor spelling is normally caused by lack of care and/or effort. Take advantage of spell checkers to determine what words you have particular problems spelling.

  2. Absolutely!

Get help ASAP  - -library books, online articles, your school....for starters.

Never -- NEVER - -give up on yourself. You can do it!

  3. Microsoft makes a program that is supposed to be really helpful called Microsoft Math.

Here is the description by microsoft:

"Microsoft Math features a large collection of tools, tutorials and instructions designed to help students tackle math and science problems quickly and easily. Students will learn how to solve equations, step-by-step, while gaining a better understanding of fundamental concepts in pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, physics, chemistry and calculus."

  4. Maybe you just need to buckle down and study or get a tutor.  I was extremely bad at both math and spelling through grammar school.  But in 7th grade, I guess something just clicked in my brain.  I became an A student in both.  But I started studying and paying more attention in class.  I graduated highschool with honors and went on to college.

  5. Yes, it IS possible.  If you are currently in public school and classified as a student with a learning disability, then you should have an Individual Education Plan/Program (IEP).  In the IEP, there should be accommodations for you to be successful in all of your classes.  If you are receiving special education assistance and are in high school, then someone should be addressing your transition plan (what you want to do after high school).  That plan is to help you figure out what kinds of classes you need to get you to where you want to be after high school.  Once you graduate from high school and go to college, the college has to provide you with the necessary accomodations for you to be academically successful.  The college will need copies of your special education paperwork (IEP, past evaluations, etc...) to prove that you have a learning disability.  You can also find help through your state's rehabilitation program.  In Texas, it is called the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services.  They have programs to help people with disabilities get the education they need to enter the workforce.  See what your state has to offer.

Good luck to you and don't give up!
