Primate's are closer to human's,than any other creature, score's of decades',and us sapien's are close to exterminating them,and if so, whois more kind, us exterminator's or them for being our victim's of genocideto our closest relative, the same we do to ourfellow  sapien's,and the evolution of ;our; spiecie's depend's onhow we treat our fellow closest kin.  If we treat them right,our blueplanet may surive.  If not I don't expect many sapien's left

I think that it can help is figure out what about ourselves is 'instinctual' behavior (ie, the things that primates do) and what is learned behavior (ie, the things we do but that primates don't do).

I guess they are our control group...

there studying them is anything but benifcial, not to mention i find your question more than pertanant, after all, when's the last time you heard of an ape going up before a senate

investigating committee for abuses of human rights? not to mention they'd probably pass a senate confirmation hearing quicker than there human counter part, wouldn't you say ? besides, unlike us they can't talk back or think for themselves, what better subect for study?  . . .

Biologically similar, we can study group behavior and the devlopment of early communication development. We can test on them, to increase the safety of food and drugs. We can learn if they are resistant to a particular contagion like cancer, and find out why.
