Question:

How can the Republicans preach "family values" when their own families seem to be so lacking in them!?

Palin's 17 year old daughter is five months pregnant. Who is the father? 17 year old Levi Johnston. On Johnston's MySpace profile, before it was made private, he reportedly boasts: 'I'm a f***ing redneck who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes... But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some sh*t and just f***ing chillin' I guess." He also adds, "Ya f*** with me I'll kick ***." and under status, he puts "in a relationship" and under Children, he writes "I don't want kids".

Maybe you should have thought of that before impregnating your 17 year old girlfriend, redneck!

Then again, maybe if the neo-cons didn't toss birth control aside for the naive concept of "abstinence," these two teens may have avoided this pitfall all together! I wonder how Palin feels about her "abstinence only" stance now? Maybe she realizes all too late that it is unreasonable to assume that teens will not succumb to perfectly natural urges.

Are the above-mentioned words those of a simple, decent American teen who made an error in judgment or a low-rent, low-life, self-professed redneck who would rather curse his mouth off and knock-up his girlfriend than to show an ounce of decency.

During the course of this entire election, Obama has taken on attacks on his religion, his name, his pastor, his experience and his integrity. Now the Republican running mate has just proven to the rest of the world that she's too busy trying to show the country how righteous she is while her daughter spends her spare time on her back with her "redneck" boyfriend. But if we mention it, we're just being "cheap" and "avoiding the real issues," right?

Family values indeed! Maybe the neo-cons should practice their values in their own homes rather than enforce them on the rest of the country!

  1. The McCain camp thinks that pointing out hypocracy when the hypocrite is a woman makes us all "bullies."

and people will fall for it.

  2. 'Then again, maybe if the neo-cons didn't toss birth control aside for the naive concept of "abstinence," these two teens may have avoided this pitfall all together! I wonder how Palin feels about her "abstinence only" stance now?'

    Agreed.

What additionally make the Palin household's family values seem disingenuous is that Palin's campaign brought it to the national media's attention that Bristol is pregnant outside of wedlock.  So Palin threw her own daughter under the bus for political expediency.  I would not want a wife who treated my children like this.

Further demonstrating her loving support, in a November 2006 gubernatorial debate, she declared that she would not support her daughter's choice to get an abortion even if she had been raped.

Again, not a wife I'd want near my kids.

  3. They like to place the blame on evils of society upon the liberal press and the media.  The choice McCain made for VP shows he does not see the office of VP to be important.  He chose unknown person with lot of baggage.  The party of "family values" does not practice what it preaches.  I have always maintained Larry Craig should have been the choice for VP.

  4. And what has more Family Value than a nice Shotgun Wedding?

  5. Yeah You got it right all the way.

What I would like to see however, is the DNA results for her 5 month old "son"-- (grandson?)  Now wouldn't that be a hoot if the 5 month old was really her grandson??

This sounds more and more like Texas in Alaska and transfer of the oil influence to Alaska and out of the Gulf Coast states.

    Big Oil Strikes Again!!!!!

  6. sarah palin is hopeless.

it always seems to me s though she is in denial.

she has obviously lacking family values and she needs to open her eyes.

she is blind to what is going on in the world.

as the world grows, so do people and she doesn't see that.

her values obviously are not working.

  7. Sarah Palin is a cow.

  8. Haven't you figured it out, yet?

The opposition of homosexuality is NOT based on legitimacy, reason, or "values", it's based on ignorance, intolerance, fear, hatred, negative feelings, bias, prejudice, and discrimination.

    Think about it, dude.

-Same s*x marriage is supposedly going to destroy marriage (according to "family value" advocates). Yet the divorce rate of straight couples is close to 50% (that's what I heard, but I guess I'm wrong, you're the expert, so we'll go with 64%).

-They say homosexuality is a sin. Yet, so is premarital s*x, and divorce (according to the bible). So why aren't they looking to make premarital s*x illegal or divorce illegal along with advocating the denial of homosexual rights?

-They may say that homosexual feelings are not sinful, but acting on them is. Gluttony is also considered to be a sin, and people "act out" on their hungar to make themselves obese.

-They're talking about how contraception is sinful. Why aren't they fighting for the illegalization of condoms?

Opposition to homosexuality has nothing to do with values. People who say that, are finding it increasingly difficult to back up that claim.

Hypocrisy is NOT a Christian value. Yet, that seems to be how it is when the issue of homosexuality is brought up. It seems that Christians and "family advocates" are obsessed with the "sin" of homosexuality, but pay little attention to other things they call "sins" and other more important causes. The church spends millions a year on opposing homosexuality. Many churches spend more on opposing homosexuality than they do on the poor!

    Something is wrong, here!

Here is an article I found of someone who was part of the American Family Association, who now recogizes this hypocrisy and is now a supporter of homosexual rights: http://www.alternet.org/s*x/49912/former...

[THE ISSUE OF HOMOSEXUALITY WASN'T INCLUDED IN YOUR QUESTION, BUT IT IS RELEVENT, I THOUGHT I SHOULD BRING IT UP]

  9. There is a wedding that's going to end badly.

  10. McCain says the coverage on this issue is ''offensive''!

Well I 'll tell you what! When your whole campaign is run on ''family values'', and then his VP running mate has a pregnant 17 year old daughter, who is about to embark on marriage BECAUSE of her pregnancy?, I find that ''offensive''!

McCain has shown poor judgment, again!!

First, his choices as far as ''political mistakes''

Aligning himself with Bush on many 'key issues', and now this choice of a running mate?, show him as an election choice to avoid!!

Neo con should indeed should practice what they preach.
