  1. For the person above, the ozone hole in the south.

Ozone does not made things colder or hotter, it affects UV rays.

The artic is faster because it is warmer there, makes sense

  2. no ozone... thats why...

  3. 1 word, Ozone.

There's an Ozone hole in the north.

  4. Because of the slingshot effect the Earth has an elliptical (egg shaped) orbit with the 'big end' nearest to the Sun. That is when the southern hemisphere has its summer and the northern hemisphere its winter. In six months the Earth will be at the 'pointy end' and as far from the Sun as it gets. The Antarctic has colder winters than the Arctic.

It must be remembered though that it is the Earth's tilt that causes the seasons

  5. ARCTIC.

Ozone depletion and the fact it`s NORTH and due to the tilt of The Earth on it`s axis closer to The Sun

  6. It isn't necessarily melting faster.  If it is, it would be because Antarctica is a continent with high mountain ranges.  The central part ofthe continent is 10,000 feet high.  This makes it a lot colder than the Arctic ice cap, which is mostly sea ice at sea level.   Also, since the Arctic ice is over the Arctic ocean, it can be affected by warm water flowing under it from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, which would melt it faster.

Finally, there is less ice in the Arctic, since it is mostly sea ice.  The average thickness is only 12 feet, while the thickness of ice in Antarctica goes up to 10,000  ft.  So a little warming in the Arctic could open up big holes in the ice, whereas 12 feet less ice in Antarctica would hardly be noticeable.

  7. The Ozone layer absorbs Ultraviolet Light by converting it into heat. Because there is a seasonal Ozone hole over the Antarctic, temperatures there have decreased instead of risen, as there is less heat from the damaged Ozone Layer.

  8. The Arctic circle has no land mass underneath. It is what is called "perma-frost". Some parts of Alaska are the same way. Anarctica, on the other hand, is a continent. It is a land mass, covered with snow and ice. There are several other factors which may be attributed, as well; The jetstream is one that comes to mind.

  9. A series of errors on this question.

    1. Spelling.

    2. The is no such situation as an ozone hole. There is a regional reduction in the concentration of ozone in the upper atmosphere. You can not get a hole in a gas.

3 Permafrost is frozen ground which is part of the land, such as N.Canada. Siberia. These  are parts of landmasses

Climatic change is highly visible in the Arctic because of the higher levels of polluting gases including CO2 from the industrial zones of the US Europe and Asia.
