  1. yes, plants can split CO2(carbon dioxide) into C(carbon) and O2(oxygen gas) by using the power of the sunrays. They also turn water(H2O) into hydrogen(H2) and oxygen(O) by the same process. Small animals eat plants, made up of carbon and hydrogen, then a fox eats them and turns hydrogen(H2) and carbon(C) into water(H2O) and carbon dioxide(CO2), breathing oxygen(O2). The process of linking hydrogen and carbon to oxygen generates energy(the same amout as that used to split these compounds), which the foxes use to do whatever they want.
