How can the homeless stay out of jail?

The real question is why would they want to stay out a jail, free food, free cable, free lodging, free gym equipment, and killer job security.  Sound way better than being homeless...

Maybe some homeless people would just as soon be in jail with - what do they call it? - 2 squares and a cot?  Food and shelter.

Why, I would tell the 30% of them with untreated mental illnesses to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get their sanity back (this instant)!

And the 20% who work - I'd tell them to get BETTER jobs. If only they were hard-working, God-fearing Americans like Paris Hilton, they could have millions of dollars instead of returning to their alley home after a hard shift of day-labor at the factory.

And the other 50%, some of whom are abused men, women, and children - I'd tell them that the streets are infinitely better than jail: "You get to sleep in your own 'fort' every night!"

some homeless people are mentally ill and there is not anything you can tell them as long as they are not on their meds, some what to be homeless and other are homeless because they lost their home and job.

Help them find Public Housing, medical, jobs/SSI.

Homeless people shouldn't have to go to jail.  There should be somebody like good social workers helping them.  There must be something in our society that is causing this and we must fix it.  They don't deserve to go to jail and they didn't do anything wrong to cause them to go to jail.
