How can the human race survive?

i know people have asked this question but what if we had world peace? why dont we do that?

Because one person's idea of world peace is another's idea of dictatorship.

Individuality does have a price... and unfortunately for the world, each human likes to display and act on his or her opinions.

i don't know what would change if we had world peace. but i think we don't have that because we each think our government is superior and should be in control

In today's news, North Korea is, once again, threatening South Korea with Extinction.  Have you heard of ANY peace movements in Afghanistan? Iran? Russia? How about the Chinese?

We CANNOT have world peace, unless you are willing to become a Communist OR a Muslim AND GIVE UP ALL YOUR RIGHTS!

As to "How can the human race survive"? QUIT HAVING SO MANY BABIES!! QUIT POLLUTING!!! QUIT DOING SUCH THINGS AS SMOKING, BOOZING, DOING DRUGS, AND ALL THOSE OTHER SUICIDAL THINGS.

Sorry, world peace is for dreamers and Miss America contestants. As far as survival, we have more to worry about from overpopulation. Let's not forget that we are still animals, and many animals face this problem.

Why? That is a question that is both easy and impossible to anwser.

Humanity has always had the mindset that the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many. Take the U.S. economy for example. Oil companies are making record profits, but thousands of people's lives are being ruined due to inflation. Or Africa, millions of people have absolutly nothing and are barely able to live, while there are some people who are worth tens of billions of dollars. The mindset of man has forever been the improvment of the self instead of the improvment of the many, so that is why we have never had world peace.

But why don't we strive to achieve world peace? I think it is because currently, the value of a human life is very low. 4000 american troops have died in Iraq and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have also died, and d**k Cheney says "SO?" Eastern religions say that God is in every person, and that you must treat everything as you would a god. I think if we had this mentality, treating everyone as if they were devine, we could have peace. But there is just too much hate in the world... and I think too many people enjoy hating.

Nothing lives without killing or taking substance from other life. The only way to be non violent is to be dead and feed the worms and bacteria, and they won't even thank you for the feast.

We are at a technological peak, but our brains still operate like we are one step out of the trees. Maybe 1000 generations from now we'll be better off as a species and can contemplate world peace, but not any time soon.
