they won last year because of the mets horrible play, but how can they possibly win if youre only good pitcher is cole hamels and you cant win a game without your offense scoreing tons of runs? do they really think blanton is going to get them into the postseason?

  1. They Have a good team, thats why

  2. It is going to be close again this year and the team that can catch a break and stay away from injuries is going to win.   It is very possible the Phillies could slide in there again and it is really to close to call at this point in the season.

  3. their offense is good enough to beat anyone elses. joe blanton may not be picthing well, but i watched him his whole career in oakland. he pitches tons of innings so he will give his bullpen a nice rest. is a number two guy? no not at all, but he is a solid pitcher who was somewhat victomized of poor run support this year.

  4. If their horrible fans and media stay out of the way, they could win on offensive power alone.  But being a Philly team, this won't happen and they will fall apart in September.

  5. Blanton is an upgrade in an effort to hopefully get them to the post-season. Let's see how he does.

The Phillies will have to look out for the Marlins as well who have the best record within the east at (21-15).

It's going to be a great finish.
