How can the sequel of The Dark Knight be better than The Dark Knight?

Would it need more action? more drama? more villains? better actors? be more lighter or darker?

(and would you please elaborate)

keep in mind that new super hero movies will try to imitate the best super hero film of all-time(which is of course the dark knight), so what can this sequel do to stand out even more?

  1. I don't know how the sequel could be better in terms of revenue but I think Johnny Depp as the Riddler would definitely be AMAZING!!  Cause Batman Begins was about Batman and his origins and after TDK, which surrounded the Joker, they would most likely have to continue with the villains as the center of the films.  I really think this particular Batman franchise is thriving because of the reality of it all.  It delves into the deeper and darker sides of the characters. For example, Christopher Nolan portrayed the Joker not just as a character in an alternate universe, but as an actual psychotic mind that got joy out of, as Alfred put it, "watching the world burn."  These movies make it seem as if all of the things in the city of Gotham could really happen if there were criminals psycho enough to overthrow the city government and a billionaire righteous enough to don a hi-tech suit and take crime fighting into his own hands.

To sum it all up, the sequel would have to have a high profile actor as the main villain, adding to the already amazing cast, and would have to continue the reality of it all, portraying the characters as dimensional as possible.

  2. I don't see how it can. Unless they get multiple big name actors to play multiple villans. Still be pretty tough to beat.

  3. It would suck because Heath Ledger is dead.

  4. When you have Nolan and Bale wonders can happen O_O!

  5. im not fussy when it comes to movies, so when i saw the dark knight for the first time, i thought it was absolutely perfect. (still do)

the dark knight was the sequel to batman begins - but it was it's own movie all together, able to stand on it's own two feet without feeding off the previous movies storyline, which i hope will be done with the next movie - that is, chris nolan creating a story line so good and different that you wouldn't even consider comparing it to the other movies - which i think he is very much capable of.

as for other super hero movies trying to imitate, i spose you'd be a fool not to take ideas from chris nolan hehe, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery

  6. UMMMM, the Dark knight is the sequal to Batman begins. so whatever movie come out next will be the 3rd installment and will have a differnt subtitle

  7. I have not seen it yet but from what everyone is saying... it cant do anything to stand out when compared to the first.  The first one is a pretty hard act to follow.

  8. it could be less immature....but i still don't think they sequel can be any better, because if you can't top the villain you can't top anything else. i'm totally a heath!joker fangirl.

  9. The director and the distributor have a choice of either getting the third installment of the current Batman trilogy out as soon as possible to capitalize on the film's success and title it "Dark Knight II," or the director can follow his original game plan and made the third installment as he intended. I think he should possibly wait an extra year before releasing the final part of the trilogy, to let the general public's notoriously short memory forget Heath Ledger.

As the second part of a trilogy, "The Dark Knight" is not a success at the moment because Ledger's untimely death has shifted the emphasis from the hero of the trilogy to one of several villains. "Batman Begins" is largely being ignored as the first part of a trilogy and a cult much like that which was obsessed with James Dean after his untimely death is beginning to attach itself to Ledger's public persona.

The most likely way for the third part of the current Batman trilogy to do its preplanned function is to dissuade the general publlc that it wants to see "the sequel to the Dark Knight" and convince them that they want to see the final act of a trilogy. At this point, only the passage of time and the rise of the next celebrity-fed fad can help the final act of the current Batman trilogy be accepted for what it was designed to be.
