I have a Golden hamster and a yellow Teddy Bear hamster that produced a litter of babies. All of them look like either parent, and they barely look mixed.

I see a lot of litters that have random colored coats. Do mine have any possibility of producing a random colored babby?

  1. you might want to contact a profensional breeder, they know the genetics.

  2. Yes. But maybe the parent hamsters parents looked exactly like that too. Its in their genes so the babies are going to look like their parents and maybe others of the family tree.

  3. Why do you care? What difference does it make?

  4. there are different genes. These can be turned on and off. and since you don't even know the history of you hamsters family there is a possibility of basically any genes. But some litters all the babies can have a solid similar color and then some markings. In my hamsters litter, there was a hamster with orange, black, and white markings then my hamster was lite orange with a white stripe around its belly. You never know what to expect

  5. does it matter
