  1. LOL...dude its been banned for a few weeks...since about the late 1st round of the playoffs.

On April 19th, 2008, NHL director of hockey operations Colin Campbell sent a memo to the Detroit Red Wings organization that forbids Zamboni drivers from cleaning up any octopuses thrown onto the ice and that violating the mandate would result in a $10,000 fine. Instead, it will be the linesmen who will perform this duty. In an email to the Detroit Free Press NHL spokesman Frank Brown justified the ban because "matter flies off the octopus and gets on the ice" when Al Sobotka swings it above his head. The ban was later loosened to allow for the octopus twirling to take place at the Zamboni entrance.

  2. DO IT ANYWAY

betman will be soo pissed and itll be like tradition

  3. You can thank the dumb Panther fans that were throwing plastic rats on the ice every time they scored a goal in the playoffs back in 1996. It took about 15 minutes to clean up that mess.

the rats not the Panthers they 've been a mess for a decade

  4. h**l If we ban this why not ban throwing hats?

  5. Easily..

It's gross. I don't care if they cook it and throw spices on it to make it less smelly - throw a rubber one on the ice or something.. who wants to scrape a gross dead octopus off the ice before the game.. not me.

  6. Ah heck, what's 10G?  The problem is if they were to twirl on the ice too much, they might amend the ruling  again to give the Wings a penalty for delay of game.  BOOOOOOOOO

  7. because there is a god, and turns out he is merciful!

oh and also red wing fans are arrogant tools

    mostly they are tools

  8. It's the NHL on NBA on Ice
