I assume it has to do with distance, speed and the weight of the car. Or it could go by the evidence. Do they look for marks? There was no skid marks. And how can they tell who was ejected when? It all seems like it would be such a mess. Sadly, I ask this after this came up in lives of people close to me. Two kids hurt, and my friend's brother passed away. A 17 year old driver who survived.

  1. Physical evidence

  2. without a wittness or onstar it is speculation through experience...like the way I walk up to a car that most people see as just fine and I point out that it has been wrecked and where ...it is just a trained eye and experience...but some of those would be hard to determine with out the accident scene...then you can really get it right...with measurements of vehicle compared to damage to the impact areas from vehicle...etc...

  3. Accident Reconstruction....

All police departments offer full investigation and reconstruction of car, truck, and pedestrian accidents.

They will investigate property damage, injury and fatal crashes.

Your case will be investigated and reconstructed by Expert Investigators who will gather the facts and evidence to deliver expert testimony in the courtroom, the insurance companies or whoever will need it.
