Operation Flame:

Things you need for this operation.

1. Any inflammable aerosols like deodrants, room freshners,etc

2. Source of Fire, may be a match stick or lighter.

3. Insecticide spray.

procedure:

Lit the fire and spray(handle carefully, once you know the technique you'll master it) the aerosol which creates a flame with force.Use this where you feel more ants gathered.

Then use the insecticide spray in holes and burrows of ants and seal them.

The ants i'm dealing with are wild Red ants(double the normal).so I don't know what ants are causing you problem.But I got succeeded. This is just a tip.

Mix a pinch of turmeric powder in wheat flour and spread it near ants. Ants will not come in that area.

If you can use pesticides then spray any aerosol psticide product near ant colony such as baygon or mortin.

If it is really a problem then consult a professional pest control operator.

Getsome kind of pest/bug spray that will kill or repell the ant.  Ensure you know the effects on plants, animals, and children if you have any and take all precautions to prevent a mishap.  Once you have gotten them out of the house, use a granular poison on the out side of your house.  Using a drop spreader, put down the recommended amount right next to the foundation ALL THE WAY AROUND THE HOUSE.  This will help create a barrier and prevent foraging ants from wandering into your house.  This perimeter will need to be done about twice a year.

get ant traps.they work wonderfullt. place a couple in corners where thewy are comingin and then,,,,place a few on counters etc where ever they are. this will attract the ants at first b/c they think its food but then the take it back to their nests when its accually poison and kill them all when  they eat it by accident.....try it its great.

Pooky bear's retarded response of calling an exterminator was not in keeping with the DIY tradition of Yahoo! Answers - DIY.  I'd start inside with some ant traps.  Get a good brand, like Raid or something.

Next, get liquid spray pesticide.  Most home improvement stores have the 1-gallon size with the spray gun built in.  Spray that on the outside around the base of your house.

Finally, if you really want to get medieval on the ants, get a granular pesticide like Sevin granulars (Walmart sells this), and spread it on your lawn with a seed spreader.  Be careful, though, Sevin contains Carbaryl, it's a pretty nasty broad-spectrum pesticide.
