Open inet options in the control panel and hit the clear history tab.

if you are using windows xp, go to tools,,,then click internet options,,,there you should find clear history,,,,,,,click it

I am taking that your talking about items in your drop-down menu that you have typed in to search the net. to remove these items just click on the empty search window which will open the list up and place your cursor over the item you wish to remove and hit the delete button on your keyboard.
