Every single office job I find, even if it is entry-level, still requires some office exp. How is it possible to get any exp. when no one hires u unless u have some?!

  1. haha. i know what you mean. you could try volunteering to do office work for a hospital or some type of volunteer service.

  2. The best way to combat this age old problem is to temp.  It worked for me. I temped as a data entry clerk (I had the skills) and as a customer service agent.  Sometimes, agencies are looking mainly for the computer and typing skills and are willing to place you if you have them.  Good Luck!

  3. Try signing on with a temp agency or even as an unpaid intern for a company within the field where you would like to work.

It helps if you "know someone", but failing that you should still be able to at least get entry-level work in a field for temporary placement with some decent education/skills, a professional resume, and a confident interview.

Job placement firms can sometimes help in these areas as well, often providing services related to resume building/polishing, interview preparation, and other job training skills.  Check the ones in your area and see what services they offer and what their success rates are.

  4. I never understood this either.  When I first got out of school it was so hard.

Try temping for a while or even interning to gain the experience.

  5. good 'ol catch 22....i have the same problem...it sucks....

  6. It's called becoming an intern or volunteer work at your local community center.
