  1. There are schools of thought that believe you can.  The most notable of which I would consider is Ayurveda.  

    In the Ayurvedic tradition it is recommended that you do various eye exercises each day:  

    - Rolling the eyes in each of the primary directions and holding them for a few seconds at each point to exercise the extrinsic eye muscles.  They believe this will not only help your eyes but various elements of your congnitive functioning (i.e... memory).  

    - Taking a book or text of some form and bringing it as close to your nose as you can while still being able to focus on it, then reading it at the point for a few minutes (gradually bringing it closer as the days go by)

    - Taking the same (or another) text and placing it somewhere (on the wall) then moving as far from it as you can and reading it while you still can focus (then trying to increase the distance slightly each day).  These last two are meant to exercise the intrinsic (focusing) eye muscles.  

    (Keep in mind that there is very little evidence-based research to support the benefits ofthese exercises and some claim that reading things to far or near can strain your eyes.  By the same token, straining your muslces [i.e... working out your biceps] is how we strengthen them too.  Still, it would be best to consult your optomotrist before getting too crazy with it.)

    Carrots, spinach, Swiss chard, and other leafy greens are supposed to be good for your eyes (and health in general).  The beta-carotene is metabolized into retenal (a form of Vit A) that is used in the rods and cones of the eye to detect light.  Vit A is also good for your sight for the same reason.  Just be careful not to OD on Vit A as it can be bad for your bones and skin.

  4. Blurry vision is caused by incorrect vision habits. Our times are complicated. Those with blurry vision need to upgrade their vision software and not become dependant upon the crutches of glasses and artificial corrections.

    For those of you who are pursuing 'Eye Exercises' (eye pushups, eye aerobics, eye yoga), let me save you some time and disappointment. Trying to improve your eyesight with eye exercises or eye pushups is like trying to improve your basketball game by just lifting weights and running. In order to improve your game you have to learn the principles of basketball and practice them as you play. Eye exercises don't work. Most people practice them for twenty minutes and then continue with the incorrect vision habits for the other 23 hours and 40 minutes. Most people get bored and disappointed within a week.

    Nutrition is very important, but it will not change the way we use our eyes.
