How can u keep a kitten or cat busy?

I have three cats and they always attack my dad when he is on the couch. so i need some ideas to keep them busy for a couple of hours. thanks for answering this!!!!!

You can play with them with wand toys or with a laser pointer, but they will get bored - I don't think there is a way for keeping them busy for a few HOURS....maybe 20 minutes are so - but a cats attention span is not that long.

as for ideas....how about getting "feeder crickets" or mice occasionally.  They will love the hunt.

play with them more often and if u r home b4 ur dad is play with the cats and get them tired i know u can because i once played with my moms cat and it was so tired it started panting tounge out and everything

Bored cats attack dad! That's a funny story unless you happen to be the dad ;-))

Depending on your budget there are several things you can do to keep the cats busy. Most expensive: get a cat-condo or tree for them to climb, hide, and chase in. Least expensive, get a lasar pointer at the pet store for about $6 and play with them. They will love that and it can keep them busy for hours.

In the middle: get the stick-and-bird feather kind of toy for the cats to chase.

Any or all three of the items above work for my cats and hopefully they will help yours. But you have to be proactive and take part in keeping them busy. Otherwise your dad will just be too interesting to them!

There are many things to keep your cats busy. Play with your cat with its fav toy. Also some cats like to watch tv. Such as animal planet. Well, I hope I helped!

I have bought all the expensive toys out there and my cats don't touch them. Cats love tin foil balls, paper bags to play in and empty toilet paper rolls. A paper bag will be really fun for three cats, one will go inside and the other will attack the bag from the outside because of the movement. Some cats love catnip but some are unaffected. Also my cats love shoelaces, but only let them play with them under supervision, then put them up when you're not around. Hope the kitties like my suggestions.

use a piece of long string and sit on the couch and hang it of the edge they never get sick of it because i have a kitten my self. Also if you have a light of laser shine it against the wall and they will keep attacking it but just keep movig it around

They must think your dad wants to play.  You should play with them and tire them out so they leave your dad alone.
