How can u tell if a dog really loves you??

How can u tell if a dog really loves you, i know tail wagging and l*****g are some but how do u no when u have that "special bond" with your dog???

I think I'm getting close to winning my dog's love and having that special bond you are talking about.  I adopted a 2 1/2 year old dog, and at first she would growl at me, but we've been working very hard at obedience, play and trust.

Why I think my dog loves me:

She pays attention to what i am doing

She goes to bed when I do

She follows my lead

She follows my commands

She makes eye contact with me

Why I think my dog still has a way to go:

She is not reliable to come when off leash

my golden retriever smiles like elvis no joke ! so then i know he loves me and then i know he wants to really play so that is our bond for 9 yrs i don't know how he does it it is just the way my golden is and i thank god everyday for the love my dog shares with me !

If a dog is willing to do any trick or anything to make you happy.

Like hes willing to Sit, or Stay just for your praise instead of for a dog treat.

yah the basic things like tail wagging or l*****g show love. if they listen to you when you give them a command that also shows love. and if you do stuff like spend time with them and feed them, and give them exercise they are pretty likely to love u. for me, i can tell when you are petting a dog or scratching it and u r by yourself and the dog just looks at you like u r the most special thing in the world. like trying to say i love you and i am thankful that you are in my life. they just give you a look like that and it almost made me cry kind of trying to say that back with just my eyes. u can tell when there is a bond between ur dog and u.

He looks at you makes eye contact, defends you against strangers, cuddles up with you without you calling you, wants to sleep next to you, obeys you when you tell him to do something.

I think if you are good to your dog and you take care of them and give them affection, they will love you. Dogs aren't nearly as picky as people are.

Wagging, l*****g, excitement are all signs they are happy to see you. If they want to cuddle, play with you, and come when you call them, those are also signs.

Dogs generally do not hate or dislike people unless they are unsocialized, mistreated, abused, or not trained properly.

he loves you if you feed him, discipline him and take care of him when he needs you.

if they sleep with you and like jump on you and bother you alot and sum people say himp your leg like wow nasty and likes you to pet them and the bark at pppl when they come close to you and likes to stay close 2 you.

you can tell alot from a dog by it's body lanaguage, if it's tail is wagging and his whole body is wiggling when you come home from school or work, he loves you. when he comes and jumps into your lap and ends up falling asleep he loves you, when you spend hours upon hours training them, and playing with them, they love you.

when you have any animal, and spend time with it, playing training sleeping eating..they grow to love you, and how can you not love them in return?!
