How can u tell the differance between tobacco and marjuana?

i smoked someting that i thought was marajuana but didn't feel anything so i thought it might be tobacco

marajuana makes you feel light headed, paranoid, and / or mellow. It smells kind of skunky and tastes much different. Trust me, you'd know.

Well there are lots of way to tell. Weed is green and has a very strong herbal scent. Tobacco is brown and has a nasty taste and smell, unless your high then it is GREAT! If you have never been high before, do it somewhere safe like at home when your parents are sleeping, because alot of people freak out on there first time. You may not like it the first time you do it but eventually it will start to become really fun to do with friends.

And if you smoked enough weed depending on how good it is you would at least something. But if your going to smoke always be safe and stay responsiable, and have fun!

Marijuana smells kind of piney. I don't know really how to explain it. Plus, marijuana is usually green or has some sort of green tint to it, tobacco is brown and stringy.

Is this a joke?  That's like asking how you can tell the difference between seven-up and vodka.  Tobacco and marijuana don't smell the same at all.  If nothing else, there is a huge price difference as well.

i dont smoke either tobacco or the reefer but h**l u can tell by the smell (which is d**n good and pretty tempting.... >_< ) but say no to drugs and yes to alcohol :)

Marijuana tastes sweet, stings the lungs moreso then tobacco.

It very well could be a mixture of the two, as a lot of people do that (its a european thing, mainly).  

I have to disagree with a previous post, marijuana is a weed (haha, no really) and it grows anywhere, but it will never resemble tobacco.  Marijuana can be brown, but will smell/taste more like oregano then tobacco.  Tobacco is highly, highly acidic, and you smoke the leaves of the tobacco plant, versus the bud of the marijuana plant.

Most pot is really green while most tobacco is pretty dark brown.  Most pot also smells distinctly like pot while most tobacco also smells distinctly like tobacco.  

With that said there's some weed so bad you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference as a stranger to both, "brick schwag" as we call it.  This stuff can very often be brown and nigh impossible to get a high off of.  

If you inhaled either tobacco or marijuana you would have likely felt something though, different highs but they definitely both effect you.  My guess is that you didn't really take the hit.

Because marijuana is grown in so many environments and there are so many strains it actually can be hard to tell sometimes.  People will sell you 'marijuana' that is brown and dryer than tobacco and it still is marijuana sometimes.  Oftentimes cigarettes can have that slight marijuana smell, also.

When you smoke marijuana you can taste a skunky flavor and you will actually smell quite a skunky, body-odor-ish smell, too.  If you breathe the smoke into a kleenex there will be quite a bit of brown residue.  Cigarettes have more of a camp-fire smell.  Basically, if you've been around someone who smokes cigarettes that is what the air around you will smell like if you are smoking tobacco.  Cigarettes taste like, well, smoke when you smoke them, and they may make your throat and/or lungs feel dusty.  Marijuana will feel hotter as you smoke it and probably more intense.

Smoking tobacco may make you a little light-headed, but marijuana will definitely make you light-headed at first and kind of relaxed.  Cigarettes make you feel a little more amped up.

If someone gave you old, low-grade dried-out marijuana you could very well mistake it for tobacco, and in fact you might not get a good high from it either.
