this is an amazing website to find out :)

  5. Male budgies, as adults have bright blue ceres, or even a vibrant purple cere. As young chicks, they normally have pink ceres. In some mutations, such as pieds, lutinos, and albinos, the males normally retain a pink cere, but it is not completely unknown for some to have a tan cere (rare, but it has happened... It's also rare for a lutino or albino to have a blue cere, but it has happened!).

Femle budgies, as adults, will have a crusty brown cere when in breeding condition, and a white cere with blue tints when out of breeding condition. Young females have white ceres with varient amount of blue in them, and possibly even tan or brown coloring. This is true for ALL mutations (even pieds, lutinos, and albinos).

  6. Over the beak in a male is blue and in a female its kind of light brown. In young budgies it is not so easy to tell.

  7. The female has a slight blue/grey tint in the beak.

  8. young budgies have light pink or whitest ceres, a female has tan, brown dark brown and a male has light blue, dark blue and even a purplish ceres  (ceres is the skin above the nose) lol check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/parakeets.h... for good keet info

  9. come on dude, there must be an obvious way...surely.. =P

  10. Hi,

You can only really s*x them when they are in breeding condition, males have a blue bar across their beaks called the cere where as females have a white or brown, the white cere though may not mean that it is a hen as all budgies are born with a white cere so it could be a young male.

  11. You can see whether or not your budgie is male or female by checking the pelvic area. If the pelvis is wide, it's a female. And if its narrow, then obviously its a male. Another way to s*x them is to see if your bird likes to chew. If it does, then its a female. If not, then it is a male. If you're still not sure by trying that, try this link:

I hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!!!

P.S. you can also try using google to search.

  12. the male has a yellow colour over the top of his beak

  13. the female does the most squawking

  14. The males have a blue color cere which is about their beak. The females are light or brown but not blue.

  15. the skin over the beak is called the cere.  in adult males this will appear blue, in females it is clear (and is different depending on the color of the bird)
