How can u tell the gender of ur goldfish

i just wanna know because i have 5 goldfish and i dont know if i should be expecting more or not

  1. well when they chase each other the male will be the chaser and often the the male will bump into the female, the male normally has a white spot on the gills  


  2. It's difficult to tell with goldfish, but if they are in an aquarium, generally you don't have to worry about expecting more, unless it's a large aquarium.  A pond is best for breeding.

  4. They have to be of breeding age for you to tell for sure.

  5. There is no way you can actually fin out what the gender is of a fish. My step dad breeds fish and he can't tell either. sorry

  7. You can't tell until they are aroung 2-3 years and closer to breeding season. Males will get little white spots (tubercles) on their gill plates and pectoral fins. Females are generally more broader bodies than males.
