  1. In theory it is great for the "getter" the folks benefiting from the renewal with getting better homes to live in. Social problems come from the "giver" the folks bearing the cost of this improvement.


  2. www.virtuesproject.com.    it must go alongside the maturity of the community. hence efforts must be synchronized.  let not cast pearls unto swines - so the old saying goes.  hence urban renewal must incorporate elements of old and new, clean and green, acceptance and tolerance,  mindfulness and concern.  the mental capacity for adaptation is crucial or we will be alienated to the renewal process.  cost is another factor.  usu renewal pushes cost up and this is passed on to the common pple - this is a big mistake - anger and alienation ensues.  hence the authorities must bear it - the social cost ought to outweigh the monetary cost.  this is something wh many cities forget or choose to forget
