Water can be renewed(eg. water cycle, water plants). Thus how can it be scarce? It can be reused over again anyway. Is it because the rate of consumption of water is faster than the production? My geography test is coming soon and I don't understand this point. Please help.

  1. it is not water that is scarce, it is clean drinking water that is scarce, and water demand when people want to use desert areas as farm land... imagine how scarce water is in middle of desert? not exactly anyone there who needs it, but along comes progress and we humans want to irrigate the entire area and soo water there is scarce.... due to polution and bad management clean drinking water is scarce in many areas even though water itself may be plentiful there

  2. im sure youve already got the answer but water is scarce because rivers and lakes are being polluted and much of the underground water is being pulled up through wells and used for useless reasons therefore all of our freshwater is being wasted so eventually we will run out of fresh  water. We can desaltinize salt water but it takes a lot of money to do so eventually there will be no fresh water on earth to support life.

  3. Water is not scarce everywhere in this world, but in many parts of the world it is, like in African and Asian arrid zones. In Chicago and in most of the world there is abundant drinking water, but it is getting polluted by careless human behaviour.
