Please think before giving the answer. Please focus on why the child labour is prevalant in India. Please consider while answering the problems of parents of those children, the problems of the people who use these children as labourers, what can be done to improve the situation on both the sides.

  1. I have to agree with the others and say that the root of this is poverty.  Children work because their families need the money.  I'm sure no one is sending children to work while the adults lay idle, so we need to look at why with, most likely at least two adults in the family working, they still don't have enough to support their family.  That would be their wages and the cost of necessities like food, clothes and lodging.  So wages need to go up and costs need to go down.  A simplestic answer to be sure, but many times it helps to cut out all of the big words and go to the very simplist point, then work your way from there.

  2. I am doing a research project on this and I have found organizations that are trying to prevent it. Since India is a developing country, you can expect poverty and child labor

throughout the country. I wish the billionaires in the world would help developing countries, but they are too selfish to do so.

  3. There’s pretty much no way to prevent child labor so long as the underlying condition of poverty makes it necessary for young people to work. Some good ideas would be to push for the creation and enforcement of legislation concerning how child laborers are treated on their jobsites. They should be properly trained, and the equipment they use should be inspected regularly and maintained with the necessary safety guards.

A system of free night-schools for these kids, which include hot meals, would go a long way towards improving their lots. Their higher rates of literacy, coupled with better nutrition, would make it safer for them at work – and, since they’ll be getting an education, hopefully they can one day send their own children to school rather than to the factory floor.

  4. The root cause is poverty. Illiteracy of the parents of the child.

The best way one can do is to help a child go to school. Provide the child with school books, chappal, umbrella and food. And school fees if required. If every one helps one child then illiteracy will go within 20 years. There wont be any child labor.

    There is a chinese proverb,

"teach me how to fish. dont give me a fish."

if one is taught how to fish he will be happy for ever.if one gives one fish one day, then only that day he will be happy.

  5. The only way I see is to raise the standard of living of the poor so they do not have to relay on children's labour to just exist.

Requires political and social will to bring about this change.Work towards free basic education and meals in schools for the poorest only for families with just 2 children.
