How can we as a nation stop this economic crisis?

we are in 12 billion dollars in debt, America has lost its reputation all over the world, There is a big posibility that the middle class will be wiped ,and we are close to the point of no return

we would need to invest 52 TRILLION dollars now just so that we could pay back our debt.

How can we as a nation stop this economic crisis?

Love that first answer. Here we have a situation where people have less actual liquidity, credit is harder to come by, schools are pricier and pricier...

Get an education, says this person. Well that's getting close to impossible to afford for the average person.

My answer to your question?  Stop the damned war, fix the damned infrastructure before it is impossible afford, indict, arrest and prosecute crooked businessmen and investors, get ready for ten to twenty years of everyone, especially the ridiculously wealthy, tightening their belts and working together to save our nation.

Do I expect the super wealthy to do this, or the rest of the public who seem to worship the super wealthy even when they are stomping on us all, to do any of this? No. We are well and truly screwed by our own lousy priorities and the religion of excess.

Easy peasy,BUY AMERICAN. No over priced German cars, No so called French designer goods& pretentious wines etc. Get the message out, Buy American, It's the best. I should know I'm Irish.

also get education - it helps with getting jobs, and makes you understand that 12 billion is not same as 52 billion.

Debt is 9 billiion according to wikipedia. Which is not too bad given annual GDP of almost 14 billion.

Cut defense spending, bring our boys back home. Boaster public transportation in major cities,  drill offshore and in the anwr, and encourage energy independence. Offer tax incentives for companies that do not outsource and offer more options for healthcare to everyone.
