  1. golf is a gentlemans game. and i am 100% sure in my heart and mind that golf is clean of any type of steroid abuse. what could a pro golfer possibly gain from taking steroids? will it make him swing the club better? will it make him hit the ball further? will it make him hole more putts? the answer to all these questions is NO! hard work and determination is the only way to compete at the highest level.

  2. i agree this is a real problem and making it legal is the only way

  3. I think it's safe to say that in any profession that depends on physical performance, steroids are and will continue to be an issue in the future. As medicine produces new substances, new tests will need to be created to detect their influence (I'm thinking of HGH here).

A transparent and random testing procedure and well-publicized, strict punishments for violations are the most important aspects. By taking a hard line and suspending or banning multiple offenders, the PGA and golf in general can make it known that today's golfers are clean.

  4. And you have definitive proof that there is steroid usage on tour?  If memory serves me they started testing with The AT&T in D.C.  and will continue......That to me is the proper way to start.

  5. i wonder what you are doing here!!!

  6. When statements such as this are posted on the Internet, it should be obligatory that the person uttering this as gospel be made to support his contention. This is one of the biggest drawbacks of the Internet, that anyone says what he pleases, true or untrue. The Yahoo Police do not consider that a violation only for the person who strongly refutes the statement.

  7. I'm always amazed at the naivete when it comes to steroids and golf.  Everyone seems to think that taking steroids turns you into the size of a professional wrestler, but that is far from the case.  Look how many cyclists have been suspended in the past few years because of steroids, and those guys are as skinny as they can be.

A golfer wouldn't necessarily take steroids or other PEDs in order to hit the ball further.  Steroids would be more beneficial to help with recovery time.  In other words, when you are hitting thousands of balls per day on the driving range, it takes a toll on your body.  Low doses of steroids would allow you to recover faster, and thus allow you to practice more, giving you an advantage over someone else.  And if they made you even a little bit stronger, that's also an advantage.  Adding ten yards to the driver is huge at the PGA level.  And you can take steroids without having to look like Hulk Hogan.

Every other sport has a problem with steroids and other PEDs.  I can't understand why people think golf is any different.

  8. its obvious that golfers are on steroids, just take a look at vijay hes obviuosly on roids. they should be banned

  9. No! I'm sorry but you're crazy! There is no reason to believe that there are steroids in golf. One guy said that there was but he was not a trustworthy source. And golf is also a game of precision and concentrtion. Why is Tiger Woods so good? Yes, i understand he can crush the ball, BUT he can also make 25-yard puts like no one else and rarely gets into sand, which has nothing to do with steroids. So to answer your question, we can't because we shouldn't.

  10. The PGA Tour and European Tour have started drug testing, and appear to be following WADA guidelines and protocol.

If there are drug cheats in golf hopefully they're caught and banned, but for now, nobody has tested positive.

  11. golf his not really a game of strength its a game of touch and control

i could not see steroid helping a golfer but on their dives
