  1. Work out alternatives for items that are commonly made of wood ,this would considerably ease the pressure on cutting down trees .

Countries that still depend on fuel wood in rural areas, should be prepared with afforestation pro grammes using fast growing fuel wood species.more that twice the number of trees need to be replanted on a regular on- going basis.Maximum use should be made of waste land to grow these trees. Once planted trees cannot be expected to  look after the, selves .Newly planted trees need to be cared for during the initial years , more so during dry spells , Dual yield is an added  attraction,Species that yield en edible crop like fruit or a vegetable  or are of other commercial significance like a source of medicinal use or oil extracted from their seeds, are less likely to be cut down

  2. plant more,cut less

  3. The easiest way to conserve tree is use less paper. Mail flyers produce so much waste it is repulsive. Also, Toilet paper and paper towels are used to freely. There is a study that says the average American household uses 2 rolls of paper towels a week. It takes me months to use a roll of paper towels. I also realized something about toilet paper this past summer on a 3 month hike. You can certainly use allot less TP if you have a shortage of it. We just dont need to use as much, that is FACT.

Im not suggesting restrictions on availability. A great way to conserve trees is acknowledging how much waste you create. So, next time you reach for a paper towel try and use a cloth towel and try not use a whole hand full of toilet paper, a square or two is plenty. Just be sure you dont walk around with a dirty A**.

  4. Search online to see if your state or community has a local land trust that specializes in conservation efforts.

  5. I would say not burning them or cutting them down might help. Just an idea.

  6. Cutt them down for every tree we cut down carve it into a tooth pick so that you can pick the S**t out of your ears, you talk enough of it you must listen to alot of it too. Do you wanna fight?

  7. In Australia , we are using environmental bribery , ie politics is a strong way to do it , in the form of carbon exchange . If you know of trees that are in imminent danger , try your local Environmental Protection Agency to obtain legal/heritage listings on that tree to give you a playing field . When all else fails , climb to the top and sit it out . You'll get arrested by the police and harrassed by logging companies , but make sure the media is there to capture the action and to promote the cause . That is how the Franklin Valley was saved in Tasmania . Do an Australian search for The Wilderness Society for some more pointers . Also the Australian Bush Heritage Fund . It's an important cause , don't give up and good luck !

  8. Start using recycled paper products, and recycle the paper products that you use.

Don't have the newspaper delivered. You can go online all day long for free and check the news.

Pay your bills online. That way it saves the paper it's usually printed on, and then you don't have to pay postage.

Don't use paper plates and plastic silverware, and try using cloth napkins. By using these things you can use over again, you're saving trees, and energy.

These are some SMALL suggestions. There are millions out there. Now if only people would use them.

  9. We can conserve trees by cutting some down.

On October 12, 2006, nearly every tree in the city of Buffalo (a city considered to have more trees than nearly any city in the US) was damaged in a freak storm

Since we lost trees, we were given a wonderful opportunity- to not replant trees that keep other trees from living.

Norway maples, for example, do horrible things to our indigenous sugar maples.....

  10. That's very easy to answer. Don't cut them down.

    Points??

Well, to tell you the truth, that's all there is to it! Not cutting the trees down is a very simple concept.

We as humans have come such a long way that using paper seem so primitive. We really don't need to be using paper anymore. Look how we are communicating now. Through computers. No paper.

There, we just saved a few trees!

  11. Use fast growing trees for lumber such as poplar.  OR...  Use alternatives such as bamboo.  It is strong and grows back very fast with no pesticides, and low maintenance.  Legalizing marijuana would help too.  No, I'm not a pot head.  But the hemp plant, which is illegal to grow because it is related to marijuana is hard to differentiate from its cousin even though it has little THC.  Hemp however could replace many forms of lumber, cotton, vinyl, plastic, and all kinds of other things while using a fraction of the space, time, energy, or pesticides.  It's a weed for goodness sake!

Also, go paperless on all your bills, don't print unnecessary docs.  use electronic filing when available.

  12. Don't use paper.

    Or Lumber.

Ha. It's kind of hard not to use trees. The real solution is controlling the lumber industry in what trees can be cut, and how they are cut. Such as selective cutting or a clear-cut. Clear-cutting is not nearly as wise as a selective cut.

  13. Well using the Internet will help them,it cuts down on paper. Then a easy way would be to stop using paper towels,go back to dish towels.I recycle all kinds of stuff.

  14. well you could go get your water can and start by watering them.................................

  15. have you ever tried by palnting a new seedling some times that is a good way to start especially if you are celebrating an event then as the event gets older so the the seedling .

  16. Stop using the stick-frame method of homebuilding, which is lobbied for by carpenter' s unions and politicians. It wastes tons of wood unneccesarily. Buy LEED-certified homes.

Don't use paper and plant trees whenever you can.

My mom puts Locust-Beans in pots, sprouts them into trees, and plants them along the shores of Lake Erie where the cliffsides and hills are eroding, they have already grown into gorgeous shady groves and attracted all sorts of wildlife, butterflies, birds, etc. I think that is the best way- take a Johnny Appleseed-inspired tandem approach to creating new while also preserving old trees by not using them.  Just make sure that you plant native trees that are not an invasive species.

  17. next time don't wait until the last minute to do your homework.

We can start using hemp for making things such as paper, rope, linen, all sorts of things. This would cut down on the need for trees.

We could make companies responsible for planting two trees for every one they chop down.

We could find another way to make furniture or houses, instead of using so much lumber.
