sand and aggregates have there own physical attributes, and are usually measured by cu. m., but can anyone help me in finding how much they weight?

  1. you need the density, which can be found in various tables.

the density should be in kg/m³  so you just multipy that by the volume in m³  to get weight in kg.

    .

  2. check out this website:

    http://www.simetric.co.uk/si_materials.h...

it has the mass for many solid materials including sand, gravel for concrete, portland cement etcetcetc...

loose sand has a density of 1442 kg/m3

dry sand (presumably packed) has a density of 1602 kg/m3

  3. kilo means thousand.  1 cubic metre = 1000 cubic decimetres.  So 1 cubic metre = 1 kilo of decimetres.

1 kilo-litre is equal to 1000 000 cubic centimetres = 1 cubic metre.  So 1 cubic metre is 1 kilo litre.

If you want kilo- *grams*, you'll need the density (volume to mass ratio) of the particular aggregate you are interested in.
