  1. John Deere did not design the mouldboard plow. What Mr. Deere did was to use Shetland steel. His original plow was made from a broken saw blade. This type of steel did not wear out as fast, scoured well, and pulled easier.

If you can design a new plow, you might have yourself a niche market. Very small and not very profitable. Keep trying though.

  2. I would help you but I am busy designing the wheel...

  3. why don't you BUY one

  4. Sorry, John Deere beat you to it about 170 years ago.....

  5. John Deere made the first steel moldboard plow around 1837 and it's great.  The plow flips the soil and does a great job.  Why would you try to change something that works so good?

  7. Dependent upon your soil conditions and potential for erosion you may or may not want a moldboard plow.   John Deere took care of the design issue of a plow over a hundred years ago.  Rather than a moldboard you may want something along the line of a chisel plow or heavy disc.  An internet  search will give you the most options.  Good luck.
