  1. If both are in melt state they would be immiscible hence drain out gold first from bottom as being heavier it would remain at bottom and iron would float on top of it due to  high density contrast.

  2. Although this is a shot in the dark, I would think you may crush the block of gold and iron then chemicaly remove the iron leaving you the pure gold powder.

  3. I bet you could melt them down and place the solution close to a magnet, the iron should get drawn to the magnet and the gold is left behind.

  4. There are several ways to do it.  All of them involve different methods of chemical extraction.  There are several sites on the internet look for how to extract gold from used computer parts it is the easiest to do without a full blow laboratory with specialized equipment.
