How can we eradicate ants from our cavity wall

Can anyone help we have had ants in our cavity wall for the last 3 summers - yesterday they were particularly bad large flying ants in and out of the brick work they also come into the house anyway they can - we have tried feeding them gel to take back to nests in the spring time - we have tried various powders and sprays - at our wits end - any suggestions please

  1. I have been told that if you put curry powder in a thin poly bag and place near to where you see them the most it annoys them and they move on. Worth a try curry powder does not cost much.  


  2. I had same problem at a house we lived at a few years ago, we even had them in the internal wall cavities. We had pest control in several years running but every year we still got the ants back. Sold the house and moved in the end.

  3. Try Terro Ant Killer.  It come in a liquid form that you put near where you see them.  They eat it and bring back to the nest to feed others.  If you are really infested, and this approach doesn't work, then an exterminator will have to be called.

  4. Contact your local council,they should address the problem for you and eradicate them.

  5. ants do not fly, what you have are termites and to get rid of these you must fumigate the house. So call a professional.
