  1. Why, so we can take their Oil?

That's the only thing that motivates the Bush Administration.

  2. Mohammed brother,

    Asalam-o-Alaikum,

Even though I am a proud Pakistani Baluch, I am not a nationalist or Pakistani supremist.

Baluchistan, unfortunately has been neglected in terms of economic and educational development by their own leaders.

Brother, Baluch people are very peaceful, strong and hard working. However, they lack education and unfortunately, the international media has portrayed Baluchis as being hardliners.

I have been to Quetta and it is a good city. More than an independent Baluchistan, what Baluchis need is a prosperous and wealthy Baluchistan. This can ONLY be achieved if Baluchis study hard, get good jobs, invest in their province and intermix with other people (Sindhis, Punjabis, Pathans, Muhajjir, etc).

Just isolating yourself and not getting good education will make sure that Baluchistan remains behind as compared to rest of Pakistan. Pakistan is a good country with good people and Baluchis don't have any problem with Pakistanis. We are Pakistanis too you know. Even you hold the Pakistani citizenship...don't you? It's not like Pakistan is denying you any right...so why the protest?

In terms of human rights, human right abuses occur all over Pakistan whether it is Baluchistan or Punjab. You can search for Ansar Burney's website to read about the human rights abuses in Pakistan.

Making Baluchistan a separate country will only ensure that Baluchis are kept weak and poor and surrounded by hostile nations. With very low educational rates and a small economy with few natural resources accessible, it will take time but if Baluchis work hard, Baluchistan can become the shinning province of Pakistan.

Believe me, if Baluchistan were to become independent, Pakistan and Iran will bomb the h**l out of Baluchistan ensuring we remain beggars for a long, long time. And it is their right...Pakistan will not want to give up even an inch of its land while Iranians have problem with their side of Baluchistan too. Then, countries like Afghanistan and India will start dictating us and will come in huge numbers to take over our resources and run our affairs. Our situation will be much worse then.

Unfortunately today sometimes in Baluchistan you hear about power pylons being blown up or pipe lines being damaged. This is only hurting the poor Baluchis and Baluch economy. The Chinese tried to invest in Gwadar and so did Pak. Govt. However, the frequent voilence is once again threatening Baluchistan's economy.

This voilence becomes a cycle. Obviously when there is a terrorist act in Baluchistan, Baluch police and the national army will reply which causes a repeat of action.

Finally, we Baluchis need to wake up and stop talking about things that Baluchistan is full of oil and gold. If it was true, Pakistan would be a much much richer nation that it is. All Baluchistan has to offer is limited natural gas and poor quality coal. Baluchistani industrialists are not investing in their own province. They rather invest overseas in UAE and Oman and in UK. No big factories, commercial centres, malls, banks, laboratories are being built nor is the Baluch community getting educated in large numbers. This is why we are poor and abused.

Dera Bugti and locality around Quetta keeps on causing problems. The rest of Baluchistan is peaceful. I am sick of the tribal mentality of the Baluchi people. I don't believe in any Sardars. These sardars are why we are stuck with low income while their sons get overseas education and Sardars get rich by opening factories outside Pakistan and enslaving us and arming us.

We are pre-occupied with our racist mentality of preserving Baluch population and not letting other Pakistanis come to Baluchistan. Other Pakistanis want to come to Gwadar and invest, they want to invest in Quetta but we don't let them.

Pakistan wants to build pipelines across Baluchistan but we don't let them...and then we have the nerve to complain.

Think about this: So what if more than 50% of Baluchistan's population is non-Baluch...is it a bad thing? Absolutely not. The more the people, the bigger our economy and more economic chances for Baluchis. Besides Pakistanis other than Baluch Pakistanis are also muslims like us and we should not hate our brother muslims. Right now, our provincial government is pure Baluchi....that is how much Pakistanis are sincere with us.
