  1. I'd like to see a migration away from coastal areas. The coasts will be flooded, storms and rain will become more severe as ocean temperatures rise.

I'd love to live in a carefully planed urban building that is in the middle of a natural environment away from the violent weather on our coasts. When we let economic pressures determine the organization of our cities we end up with a patchwork of ugliness, concrete, and sprawl.

Human activities need to be well planned so that we can allow nature back into human experience. Large mega-structures for living can minimize human impact on the environment with well defined agricultural and natural areas.

  2. I urge all of you to have a go at this - and send it to your local school -

It's an online game to plan your town for natural disasters - very interesting if you plan it the way yours is set out - to see what the outcome may be.

  3. Solar Energy.

  4. Well this depends on where the city is. Most won't have to change at all, people will just wear less clothes. The only problem in terms of city planning I can think of is a further reduction in road traffic because the increase in temperature could cause an increase in air pollution.

We won't see huge tornado's or tidal waves. The damage is going to be much more subtle and gradual

  5. Even before the GW theory I thought this should be a major proposal of American/Worldly problems. We have just a few modern cities that actually try to compensate for environment and pollution problems. Some European countries are in the full scale mode for infrastructure improvements such as France. This was due to their dependency on foreign oil.I only wish the good ol USA would jump aboard the bandwagon.Really if you think about it...it has almost nothing to do with GW but just as a good way of life.
