i know these bush, cheney years are hard on all of us...but there are people who have worked all of their lives and inflation has went up so fast...they are hungry. The cost of living raises have always been too little to keep up with inflation,...they won't get a cost adjustment untill next year

  1. Interest rates on CD's and savings accounts have been greater than the inflation rate  for decades so people living on savings are doing better than most of us. If they have been getting cost of living adjustments their incomes have increased faster than wages since 2000. Some  retired people had inadequate incomes to start with, but as a group they are not suffering disproportionately.

  2. start a bank account or savings fund at money your spare change you get to it. build it up each week. if you smoke use the money you would pay for that pack and deposit in to a account. Then when you've build up some money in that, you find a needy family and buy them some food for the week. but do it discreetly. thats what I am doing. 5 to 10 a week builds up fast , or if you can deposit 20 or 30 a week. so many ways you can help them out. another way is to buy extra food like can foods that are ready to be heated like soups and put them aside and give them once a week to a family in need. discreetly though.
