  1. You can do anything you want to protest, but the price is set by global market supply and demand, as alluded to above.

  2. I advise this, get people to wake up, with these Gas hogs out there... too many. Push the government and the major gas companies to invest in the technology that will allow them to search for petrol in the states. We have many parks and such. Fossil fuel is here, but the sad fact is that were willing to pay for gas prices that are just ???, but not so bad, really, not liters. It's sadly more cost productive to sadly sacrifice lives then invest! The major overseas gas companies think this way. Frankly, outrageous!

  3. Not much you can do, short of reducing your consumption.  here could be solutions on the supply side:

-Release the US strategic reserves (not all of it, some)

-Increased drilling in Alaska, N. Dakota, and the Gulf of Mexico

  4. Stop buying gas and start riding horses...seriously..like the old days

  5. Protest the Stock Market Exchange.Bank,Credit Card Companies, are all investing billions each day playing the stock market oil,and fuel.

Keep minimum in savings, checking, writing checks to pay bills at the last possible day.

Then they can't gamble with your money, and hurt us all.

  6. Probably the best way to create a price war between the oil companies is not to buy petrol from the two biggest oil companies in the world - BP and Shell.

If everybody only bought from other, smaller oil companies the two big boys would have to reduce their prices to be competitive... and the smaller companies would then have to do the same.

But thats not likely to happen is it?

  7. That's what I have been saying for some time now, if we boycott one oil company for 1 month, it will work because they will have to lower there prices to make room for the inventory coming in, Lets say company A is selling gas and company B is not, then company B will lower there price to beat company A price, then there are price wars between company A and B... Lets just say we try for June 1st for the boycott

  8. Clearly we have an answer for you. We'll just make some nifty signs and hold them up outside of important places. Then those fat cats in Washington will have no choice but to bow to our demands.

  9. Pick a week day and boycot, ban all  gas buying from any gas outlet on Fridays.

  10. You can't really do anything unless you somehow take away China and Indias need for oil or discover more oil.

  11. Don't protest.  Hedge the price of oil by buying stock in ConocoPhillips or ExxonMobil.  When the gas price goes up, the stock price goes up - thus costing you nothing.

  12. You cant recently i saw we have around only 34 years of oil! Yikes!

  13. there are only 2 things  that you can do really

    dont buy gasoline

dont buy stuff made in china so they dont have money to compete with you for oil.

I have got rid of my car and bought a electric scooter

I will drive it till a electric car becomes available.

  14. Last year - a day was picked for everyone not to buy gas on that particular day.  The oil companies lost billions in sales.

    Just a thought!

  15. Start carpooling. Take the train if there is a commuter one around. Get a scooter or motorcycle.

Or we could all go back to horse and buggie. But we would need to all get jobs that were closer to where we live.

We could get diesel cars and convert to biodiesel and run cooking oil from dunkin donuts. mmmm yum

Have someone develope an electric car that is cheap enough for the working man to afford. Sigh.

  16. Probably nothing. I heard on the news tonight that it is a possibility that gas prices will rise to $10 a gallon.

  17. It would not do any good.

Gas prices are based on supply and demand. We get most of our gas from the middle east (OPEC). They have total control over the price of gas. If they cut production of oil enough to push gas prices to $10 or $12 a gallon or more. It would shut this country down. We depend on their oil.

We (you and me) have to find a way to stop using it!

  18. Buy a bicycle, start commuting to work on it and join your local bike club!  Participate in efforts to demand better infrastructure to support biking and other commute options, city planning, and housing options to make this possible for more folks and...

    Get off the gas!!!!
