How can we help stop air polluting?

agree with 'truckers',  we are killing ourselves because we are so d**n stupid. anyway. ALOT of things contribute to air pollution... any spray cans.. hair spray.. paint..pesticides..bug spray...all chemicals..burning garbage, coal mining is a huge contribution to air pollution..smoke from anything...what we can do is well..stop using harmful chemicals for so many things..try and find other sollutions to whatever the problem is..what we really need to do it enforce whatever the action that is to be taken by law. so everyone has to stop, or they will get a fine or somthing.

The major pollutant sources are cars and factories, based on our ways of living it is impossible to go without cars, yes we spent 99.9% of human history without cars, but we have become so dependent on them it is not possible to get rid of them. The only solution is to develope cars that use renewable energy (solar is the most preferable).

The next are factories, we have discovered and produced so many chemicals over the last century, and almost everytime, 10-15 years later scientists discover they affect the environment in one way or another. We have to stop using harmful chemicals, that is the big thing. Many factories still use coal as their energy source... that HAS to change, we are now slowly turning towards nuclear energy, but the radioactive waste will remain for centuries after we are dead, so not a good idea either... again we have to invest in SOLAR ENERGY!

Overall, don't use harmful chemicals, and use solar power!!!

I think people should stop driving cars vans and walk and people should stop smoking as it damages their lungs and the pollutes the air its a bad habit

As crazy as it sounds... stop recycling because a second truck has to pick it up to a smoke stack factory and when they extract the ink from papers they put it in rivers and streams (I know not air but throwing it out there). The only thing cheap to recycle is glass.

Believe it or not air pollution today is not nearly at the levels it during younger days.  The developing countries in the world India and China are becoming larger emitting far more pollution then we are.  T

he biggest thing is encourage the science community to come up with more efficient and safe ways to provide the energy we consume.  Necessity is the motherhood of invention.

Do you know that how much it cost when you just keep your Laptops/TVs/DVDs/Desktops on standby mode. Do you know that if each and every person in developing country like India and China shut down and plug out the appliences when not in use will cause many smokey power stations to shut down.

This is not a big issue to just plug out the appliences. But how many of us are really consider it. Rather we will go and blame on Cars and other Industries which cause CO2 to be emmitted in the environment.

We can just take small steps to form a big cause of saving our environment:

1. Plug out your appliences when not in use.

2. Do not use automobiles while going near by.

3. Smoking is also a reason for pollution, so quit it if you can.

4. Use more of natural source of energy such as solar, wind.

5. AND TRY TO PLANT AS MANY PLANTS YOU CAN.

These are some small steps you can take to save our environment. Although, they do not make a very big difference but as we know that drop drop can fill an entire ocean.

Your government must die first in order that humans may use their will and intelligence in order to bring about life as it was meant to be lived.  All things done in harmony with nature.  With respect given to all living things except those who wish to destroy it with harmful things like gasoline engines and boat propellers.  Man has no right to go faster than our planet intended.  His destiny is in his own hands and he is killing himself.
