How can we improve our "Creativity"?

Set up RSS feeds so you can read widely

Force yourself to think about the other side's points

Have quite times you can simply do what I call Brain Dumps, which also reboots the brain

Think with a relaxed mind and socialise with friends and family also go on vacations thats when a lot of creativity is channeled out.

You need to think outside the box sometimes, remember its something that just cant come you need to work at it , i hope its your interest and not forced on you.

You need to be creatively wilfully not because your job just demands it or else that way you wont make it.

I know of two scientific methods that increase creativity and and are designed to help solve problems in an "Inventive" way. The two methods are TRIZ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triz) and SIT (http://www.sitsite.com/app/methodGeneral... These will provide you with tools for being able to come up with creative solutions to problems.

Regarding creativity in general, IMHO, it can be improved by increasing your knowledge. Ideas can come from a completely different field and from something that may seem completely unrelated (Archimedes solved the problem of the golden crown while taking a bath).

Very few people can be creative in everything.  I think it best you focus on one area at a time.  Choose the discipline that interests you the most.  So, for example, if writing were an interest, start learning how words work together to form ideas.  Then start reading good authors.  

And perhaps, in time you too will be able to proclaim: I'm unashamedly addicted to alliteration!
