  1. REFUSE

    reduce

    reuse

    recycle

    the key is REFUSAL

also, majority of money from the govt regarding this issue goes to pollution clean up rather than prevention.

write letter to senators or local officials calling for a change in your community.

incentives would also improve recycling programs

    tax breaks

    also phase out govt subsidies

  2. One way is to spread the word and or join a group or group's. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OneNationR...

recycling is very important to our environment ,as it help's keep us healthier as well.If we think about this as well, keeping trash out of our yard's as well ,keep's down on unwanted visitor's such as snakes and spiders.Recycling can also help another family in need. All you do is post what you want to give away. And if there out of town , they can pay s&h.

  3. So many people are selfish and egotistical. I say since they want to know what is in it for them to recycle...how about we tell them...clean air, water, food from crops that aren't saturated with industrial chemicals, how about food from seeds that are actually going extinct. Its time to re-germinate and not let the storehouse in the artic be the only place on earth this food is available for our children. I say that the US needs to get off its selfish butt and do something in their community at least once a week. Whether that means going without washing your car, or perhaps you choose to bring your own bags to the grocery store with you...instead of choosing paper or plastic.

  4. Just Do It!

    Recycle

  5. Don't charge people for recycling services. I would recycle but I have to pay for a recycle bin and pay a monthly fee. And on top of that they give you this little recycle bin that barely holds anything.

Oh and one biggy,,,stop buying bottled water!!!!

  6. first we should make posters

    second we should strike

third we should try to clean  it up ourselves

fourth we should send a card or a email to every family to save our environment

and i hope you like my opinion just try to look forward to at least one of them

Besides recycling the plastic containers, you can improve your work or home environments by bringing live potted plants indoors.

    Major items needed:

One empty plastic gallon container.   Tree Top Apple Juice is preferred, or equal in shape.

One empty plastic ½ gallon container.  Langers All Pomergranate Juice is preferred or equal.

Directions:  Lay the plastic gallon container on its side so the front label is facing up.  Place the empty plastic half gallon container on the label and with a sharpie pen outline the bottom on the Tree Top label and with a sharp knife carefully cut the outline.  Insert the half gallon into the hole until it rest on the back label of the gallon container.  Then mark and cut approximately one inch above the cut on the ½ gallon  to complete your planter container.  Remove and drill several ¼ inch holes on the bottom of the ½ gallon cut container for drainage.

Fill the cut ½ gallon planter with one inch of gravel before putting in good potting mix soil and live growing plant.  If you make two or more you can pour the water back and forth and not waste the water with the nutrients.

Go to NASA’s Clean Air Plant Study for the top ten plants that cleans the indoor air better than the rest.   http://www.zone10.com/tech/NASA/Fyh.htm

  8. Many states already have deposits on cans and bottles. The fee is generally 5 cents for a can or bottle, and 15 for a larger glass bottle. When they are recycled, the money is refunded. When I lived in Maine, I found that people were meticulous about saving cans and bottles and recycling them- because they represented money! Recycle bins were like informal savings accounts. You need more beer, so you take back the old cans so you can afford it!  If more states did things like that, people would be much more likely to recycle. It could even be expanded to paper goods and plastic. Maybe 15 cents a pound, or something along those lines. Money talks!
