How can we improve the poor condition of electricity supply?

I'm guessing you don't live in the United States or one of the highly developed countries of western Europe, electricity supply isn't a problem there.

The only way to improve the supply of electricity is to improve the distribution grid.  Since electricity cannot be stored like oil or coal, it must be produced as quickly as it is consumed.

First generation capacity must be developed to satisfy the anticipated need.

Next, transmission lines must be built that carry the power from the generators to the distribution centers.

Then substations must be built to reduce the power from transmission strength to consumer usable strength, and lines from the distribution substations to the consumers must be installed.

All of this construction requires a massive amount of spending by either private industry or governments.

UPSs can be purchased for critical uses, but it would be too expensive to do this for your entire house.
