  1. Heavy mulching will promote decomposition though water retention.

    get as much organic matter in the soil as possible (manure, leaf matter, etc)

    planting legume plants (pea's and acacia)  will add nitrogen to the soil.

    if you mow let the grass clippings sit on the lawn.

    if possible, keep the garden moist (promotes fugal and bacterial decomposition).

    compost.

    a dence under story will keep the area humid and promote decomposition.

    releasing/promoting worms in the soil/compost.

    keep in mind that rainforests have a very rapid nutrient recycling rate so try to replicate rainforest conditions were possible.


  2. Regularly take dumps in your Garden.

  3. get a composting ball or fence in a small area for composting.

    have soil samples taken to your local extension office for lab testing.

  4. whatever vegetables or peelings you don't use or are going to throw away, put in your garden instead!
