Afghanistan, if anything, seems to be getting more violent and more unsafe. How can we change things, or are we, the west, going to have to pull out like the Russians did in 1989?

Afghanistan is indeed becoming more violent with each passing day.

Finally, no, the Allies have no plans to pull out of Aghanistan.

    Final

Lord Paddy Ashdown a former member of the SBS [Special Boat Squad] Royal Marines [same as SAS], has already made it clear that the war in Afghanistan is unwinnable.

    What next?

  2. Ignorance is what make a nation fall. Without democracy they have very little hope in salvaging a quality life. The poor eastern countries are so because of the uncivil manor of the mentality of the people/government. You can't heal a wound that's self-inflicted. Only love for each other will heal their wounds and as a nation they need to find direction. We have ignorance in North America but still have the structure of a nation of people who care.

  3. Put more troops in Waziristan where Pashtun tribesman are crossing into Pakistan and getting weapons, money just like the mujahideen did in the Afghan-Soviet war.

  4. Why bother  all they do is    market  drugs   i

  5. Stay out of it, we have enough trouble at home without looking for it abroad.

  6. Disengage the military, trade with them instead. Hospitals need narcotics for people recovering from surgery, let us buy their opium poppies.

  7. Decode this lyrics " Begin the begin"

    With the little ones.

    Genesis 11.1, 6

    Luke 9.25,55-56,50

    Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49

    Luke 8.5-8,10-17

    John 7.19

    Exodus 19.5

    Exodus 18.20

    John 8.44

    Matt 23.27

    Matt 22.17-21

    Luke 16.13

    Exodus 20.1-7

    Leviticus 26.1

    Leviticus 4.13, 22

    Revelation 16.14

    Luke 21.30-36

    What do you think?

  8. The growing influence of islamists in Asia, Africa and Europe should be taken into consideration. Afghanistan left for itself will provide Al-Quaeda with manpower. What is the name of the group Doustoum headed? Northern Alliance? I think such strong force opposing Taliban should be given all possible support. They will settle things themselves.

Why didn't Bush listen to Putin when he urged him not to invade Iraq? To withdraw is much more difficult then to invade.

  9. We can start off by pulling our troops out and let them do whatever they want with each other . If they want to bomb each other and torment each other then let their A$$es do that to themselves and not our American Troops . I never did understand why the Ba$tard of a president even did this $hit ! He is just as bad as that country killing his own people . I say they should vote for BUSH to be their president so that they all can live happily ever after in their country !

  10. Let them all eventually kill themselves in their own stupidity. Their governments are corrupt so any help (money and aid wise) is probably all going to the people at the top. I suggest we should all leave them alone to get on with it, and focus on our defence. We arent helping them by sticking our oar in.

  11. If you ask me I even don't know what the plans would be.I think it's better to keep doing what were doing in war right now.

  12. Irradicate the threat of Taleban and Al-Qaeda that's step one.

This is not just for the Afghan people but the security of all of our people worldwide.

We've lost too many of our brave, heroic troops and many innocent Afghan civilians to pull out now without achieving what we set out to achieve.

Once that's been done, we should work with the Afghani people in order to help them rebuild their lives. That means in my opinion getting the ball rolling on better healthcare, education and accomodation.

We have charities set up already such as Sponsor An Afghani Orphan (In which £15 can provide food and shelter) Afghanaid in which supports sustainable developtment of the most rural areas in Afghanistan. There are also more smaller charities that work for a better life for the Afghani people.

President Bush nationally televised an appeal that asked all American children send $1 to help Afghan children. Red Cross officials administering America's Fund for Afghan Children say that, to date, 1.5 million has been raised, with donations still rolling in steadily.

Oxfam has also shipped 10,000 books to Afghan classrooms!

Although in recent times there has been more violence in Afghanistan, I think we all still have a lot of hope that the situation will improve.

My fingers, toes, arms and legs are crossed for the Afghani people and the amazing troops serving in Afghanistan.

    Thank you :)

  13. nuke their country so they can have a fresh start?

  14. Get the h**l out of there, we have no right to impeed in a country that has had it own civilizational developments for centuries.

  15. The US trained Bin Laden and he in turn the Taliban. Its ironic isn't it. Maybe next year with Obama as President things might be a bit better.

  16. only thing we can do is help them....

by laying road and other development works ... the politics shounld be look after by them with help of UN...

  17. We just need to leave them alone. They don't want to live like we do... they don't want Christianity shoved down their throats. They have a complete opposite value system than most Americans do, and it comes from their ancestry. We should really stop trying to Americanize everyone... it's stupid. We aren't that impressive. ****... we don't have anything on China.

  18. We need more Soldiers there.  It's that simple.

We also need Pakistan to crack down on the tribal areas that border Afghanistan which is where all these guys get money, arms and training.

  19. I believe that you can't save someone from themselves.

It's unfortunate that a country can hate their own people that much and don't care if they suffer.

  20. The only way is to persuade george bush... HE CONTROLS IT

BEWARE OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER!

  21. education, i dont mean give money , get in there and pressure education building schools,  teachers, thats what we should do in iraq africa n even usa if we really want to stop terrorism but, we dont instead we pressure war. just like gangs in the usa give them an option gang banging or a degree or trade i bet more than half would take the later all the money for war use a 1/4 of all we have wasted to fight terror and the rest for us.. thanks to bush. vote mcain if u want to really f us up

  22. The fact is the country is barren and too unfertile to support the people. We should transfer most of them to settle in the USA where Mrs Bush can look after the women's education. Some could come to the UK, especially to Scotland where they will be more used to the hills and cold. The rest can go to France and Germany. That will really better their lot.
