Global warming can be prevented by preventing excessive use of vehicles that use petrol and diesel. This can be done by walking out or cycling short distances. Avoid using sprays and refrigerators that contain CFCs(chloro-fluoro-carbons). Avoid wastage of electricity coz coal is used up to produce electricity. Combustion of coal releases a large amount of carbon which is a major air pollutant.

wel, if u really wanted to stop global warming ur probably goin to want to stop all the C02 (which is only 5% of the natural greenhouse gases produced by this earth) , and how u wud do that wud be to block up a volcano / stop cows from distributing methane / or at least find a giant leaf blower to get rid of all the dead leafs and animals that cause such a great amount of c02 released into our atmosphere.....this myth about human intervention is just that, its a myth,  science tells us that....we simply do not produce anythin close to enough to change tha global temperture of the planet, its jus nieve to beleive a failed politian.  I suggest u look at all the facts and make up ur own mind,  decide if we are powerful enough to stop / start any sort of change this planet is taking.

he says polor bears will ot survive, wel, they have seen harder times and their still here today.

i dnt debate whether the earth is warming up or not, my debate is that humans have nothing to do with the changes the earth decides to make.

The most important step is to reduce the size of the human population.  The most important invention towards this aim is artificial birth control.  The other major effort must be to raise the economic standards of women, e.g., increasing literacy, increasing education, increasing economic equality for women.  These correlate with lower reproduction rates.

Plainly, there is nothing we can do about global warming or any other anthropogenic damage without curbing population growth and reducing our numbers humanely.

We can't.  The world does not have the will or the way to do it. Our goose is literally cooked in engine- and factory-emissions as well as cow-farts and beer-farts.  Milk is good. Beer has got to go.

We can't. According to the predictions of those who are sure there is global warming, nothing we do can stop it. If we all dropped dead today, our bodies would still release CO2 and the climate would continue to warm.

Then again, the globe may stop warming on it's own, it's done it in the past when CO2 levels in our atmosphere were much higher than they are today. Because sometimes the CO2 goes up only decades after the temperature rises so we're not sure that's what's causing most of the warming.

To be safe be responsible, like in anything. Don't waste energy by leaving lights on.

Walk instead of driving if it's not too far, I see people drive their car from one store to another that's only 50 feet away, which is stupid and one reason American's are overweight.

Plant trees if you want, they're pretty and they consume a lot more CO2 when they're new and growing fast, like all plants they love CO2.

The less fuel you use the better, even if the world starts cooling again, conservation is a good idea. Biofuels aren't the answer, ask anyone living in Mexico how much they pay for corn tortillas now that corn is used heavily for making bio-fuels. You can either eat it or burn it, not both.

You can switch to fluorescent lights that use less electricity but they contain mercury that gets released when they're eventually destroyed which might be our next major crisis since everyone seems to be switching to them today. Just remembering to turn off lights behind you and in empty rooms is helpful.

If we all started living like in the Stone Age, the climate might continue to get warmer. Earth does tend to get warmer between ice ages and we're overdue now for the next ice age. One thing to remember: most of the ice in the northern hemisphere is already in the water so when it melts it doesn't raise the water level much, if any. Globally, high tide today is the same as it was a century ago. I don't think anyone knows for sure what's causing it to warm or if it will stop on it's own.

The natural world has tolerated greater than one-degree fluctuations in mean temperature during the relatively recent past and thus current changes are within the range of natural variation.

There is no reason to believe that slightly lower temperatures are somehow preferable to slightly higher temperatures - there is no known "optimal" nor any known means of knowingly and predictably adjusting some sort of planetary thermostat.
