How can we protect our kitchen worktops?

I am very much bothered about the kitchen worktop of my new home. How long they will last. How can we protect them from damages?

To keep your worktops clean: -

Clean them regularly with a damp cloth

Do not use bleach for cleaning

Do not cut objects directly rested upon worktop

What material is your counter made of?  If it is laminate, you can use anything to wipe clean.  If you have granite or a similar stone, you can only use special stone cleaners on them and of course because of the stone be careful not to chip it.  Stones must be resealed once a year.  A simple procedure you can do yourself.  Tlle tops do not require any special cleaners but again, can chip if you don't take care.  Corian is a strong sealed countertop that can weather just about anything.  The list goes on.  It just depends on what you have.  Go online and find out the specific care for whatever you have.
