  1. carbon foot print?

do you mean "greenhouse gas emitions"?

if so I have a few questions for you...

1: do you believe the earth is a "solar system" ergo revolving around the sun?

2: do you believe in venus, mars, jupiter, titan (one of Saturn's moons) and to a lesser extent Pluto?

3: if the temprature on venus mars jupiter titan and to a lesser extent pluto went up, would it be the fault of human kind?

4: if the sun was strangely bright at the moment but we know for a fact it won't be so bright for more than 50years would that effect the temprature of every planet revolving around it?

    if your answers are

    1: yes

    2: yes

    3: no

    and 4: yes

then global warming on earth has nothing to do with the greenhouse gas emitions or "carbon foot print" of anyone (why Al Gore uses 4times the coal fired electricity of the average american...)

  2. well, you could reduce your carbon footprint by driving cars even.  A single seat motorbike with a car engine in it is very inefficient.  Probably the least efficient form of transport going.

But if you want high tech green bikes, you could always try the Envy, it is a Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered motorbike.  See link

  3. Check out electric motorcycles conversions. The principle is reasonably simple, just like with an electric car - replace the engine with a set of batteries and an electric motor. It might even surprise you pleasantly - electric motors can apply a LOT more torque than gas ones (since they don't have stalling problems), so you can get much better acceleration. A good battery solution may be tricky, but this ought to cut your carbon footprint in half, at least, although it will restrict how far your trips can go - probably no more than 30 or 40 miles a charge.

EDIT: Ugh. Ignore the nonsense above. Solar variation does NOT explain the majority of global warming, and is included in all climate models anyway. The anthropogenic (human-caused) component of warming FAR outstrips the natural-caused component, according to our best available understanding of climate and how these factors interoperate.

  4. First rule of reduce is 1) Reduce...   Ask the Holy Spirit if the travel you are purposing to make is really necessary... ask what benefit will it bring... what is the purpose?

    2) Reduce engine size... go all the way down to moped or bicycle power if your area permits.

    3) Ride less bikes.... double up on your bikes even when everyone has one.

    4) Reduce speed... cruise and use less fuel..  no speed shows.

    5) Reduce vehicle usage and use your bikes for commutes to  work etc.

    6) Commit to a 'greener home'.

    7) Commit to learning more about greener living.  The more you know.. the more you wil grow.
