  1. Make the roads just slightly too narrow for them, and put central reservations up so they can't hog the other side of the road as well as their own lane.

    -Edit-

Didn't think about truckers.  Still, carrying freight is what railways were built for!

  2. Have you ever noticed that drivers of large vehicles are usually small in stature? We should require them to be able to see over the steering wheel.

  3. How about those land mines that only go off when a weight above a certain limit presses down on them ?

    (Possible downside: unpopular with truckers)

  4. try buying one you idiot, what's wrong with them? what do you own a bike?

  5. What makes them roadhogs :-)

  6. We can't. Auto companies have the right to sell any vehicle which passes government regulations. And as long as people buy gas guzzlers, auto companies will continue to make them.

  7. will the sad idiots with blotted shopping trolley for car get of this band waggon, its getting really boring and it only shows you up to be the envious Muppet's that you are, what is wrong in working hard for that better home or a bigger car, its what living in a free country is all about or would you have us all living in exactly the same box of a home and all driving the same state approved poxy little excuse for a car. Get of this topic and go hug a tree.

  8. I think we should ban nascar and boats and cows because they f**t so much give me a break people. What a bunch of fruitcakes.

  9. give all other motorists tanks to drive

  10. we shouldn't.

we should be kind and tolerant and drive smaller cars so the roadhogs (of all types) will have more road to hog. just kidding - hehehe!!

I think the gov't is already trying to do so by creating mpg standards that are unreasonable.

also, i would prefer to drive a large vehicle so that i at least would feel safer if there were an accident.  after driving an escort for years, i can to really appreciate the durability of my F150 truck while i had it.

  11. I don't know, but I suppose (whatever it is) it'd be the same as getting rid of road-hogs in any other type of vehicle.

  12. why cant u afford one

  13. No because the UK.gov need to collect a higher road tax from the owners of such vehicles.  It really all boils down to money.  Those of us who buy smaller cars with small engines pay less road tax.  Makes sense.  Let the idiots ride around in their monster 4x4s [other wise known as Chelsea tractors here in London] and let them pay more for fuel and tax etc.

    See if I car.

  14. As there are about 100 small cars to every 4x4( I assume this muppet is refering to vehicles that will actually be capable of going off-road and not one of the many saloon cars that now have all wheel drive !) surely it`s the little tin boxes that are taking up all the space ?

  15. Are you kidding me?  How do we get rid of all the street racing cars?  Now thats a problem.

  16. When it stops snowing in NH in the winter. Also when all the moronic teenagers get off their cellphones, ipods, blackberries and pay attention to what the heck is going on around them. It wont be me or my family that gets taken out by you meat heads. Its simple physics he with the most mass wins.

  17. good on you both, silver surfer and hugh owen, nothing wrong with 4x4s , i worked to pay for mine, bought it outright and go off roading in it, the bull bar on the front is to discourage shoe box drivers not to use my bumper as a parking stop, and what id like to know is as my toyota surf is 16ft long, blue and chrome and 6ft high, how comes shoe box drivers cant see it and still pull out. 4X4S RULE

ps mark a im 6ft 2 so your idea sucks

  18. Have you also noticed how bad mannered & arrogant people who drive those tanks are?

  19. We can't. Especially in the northern states where snow squalls and ice storms are frequent.

But, what do you consider to be a 4x4?

I have a little Ford Escape which is a 4x4, and that doesn't seem to be near as much of a 'roadhog' as the Crown Vic's and the land yachts driving around.

  20. well im a bus driver, l could get rid of a few for you lol.

  21. Get a pitition going and have people sign it saying you want to expand your highway to have less 4X4 on the road hogging the traffic/rd. If that is the case and there no funding for it you may have to raise money for founding, there many ways to do so,

  22. 4x4's dont hog the road some of the drivers do, anyway we have to pay more road tax  so perhaps we should get more road than the jealous drivers

  23. I resent that because I have one! It's the people that drive the vehicles, not the vehicles. Four-wheel-in is my thing(off-road ing),Try it sometimes and feel the rush!

  24. stop hogging the middle lane and no problem

  25. Jealous are we?Grow up and learn to drive a real car-if not remember taxes raised by my fuel purchases save lives(N.H.S.!)

  26. by increasing the sales tax, tag/title on these vehicles if the owner really does not need them (if they are not farmers, builders, etc)

    Through educating people

Increasing insurance premiums for increasing the chances of hurting others in an accident and highly likelihood of flipping

Not allowing ridiculous customizations that totally change the safety of a vehicle

  27. Weight limits on cars as trucks are classified so you have to learn to drive a 4x4 properly. And before some muppet driver of a 4x4 goes off on one it,s not what youve got but what you do with it hence,You really need how to use it before you kill someone,Car =one ton,4x4=2 to four tons also off road you need to learn otherwise whats the point in owning one other than a little ego.

  28. Machine guns on all normal cars.

  29. *lol*

My husband calls them tw@t mobiles!

  30. Special £5000 a year road tax

  31. For a start, since they are trucks for taxation purposes, then they should be subject to the same regulations as other trucks, things like "All trucks use right lane only" and "Trucks - no left turn" and "No truck parking" and "No through trucks this area - local deliveries only" and so on.

My second, less concrete, thought is to make drivers' licensing requirement more stringent. We have technology to make it easy and cheap for drivers to be tested on a "drive simulator" similar to the flight simulators used to train airplane pilots. I believe that these monstrously large vehicles are mostly purchased by two types of people: (1) aggressive drivers and (2) those substandard drivers who are frequently involved in crashes and fear being injured. With more stringent standards fewer such drivers would obtain licensure, thus decreasing the number of licensed drivers choosing monsters over normal cars.

(I don't care how much the crash wasn't your fault. People who are involved crashes on the average of more than every 30,000 miles or so are people who aren't practicing good driving skills. Your fault or not, plenty of other drivers use skill and attention to avoid such frequent crashes and you should too!)
