How can we stick it to opec?

opec seems to want to stick it to the world by jacking their prices up, i understand that supply might actually be going down but when u purposely produce less than capacity to raise prices, makes you wonder how we can stick it to them, just looking for ideas for a report

I'm confused. The oil companies are doing very very well with record profits. Those are American companies that benefit. So isn't Opec doing a good thing with their pricing. Isn't what is good for business good for America?

Sure ordinary people are struggling... but that's the price of prosperity to those that matter in our country.

Or are you one of those people-loving socialists?

Of course the obvious way to stick it to OPEC, (and CANADA, USA's largest oil supplier) is to shut off America's borders to imported oil and gas. Don't buy another drop of imported oil.

Go to using only American oil, and use up all America's strategic reserves as quickly as possible.

It is actually an OPEC strategy to conserve some fuel for  sale later. That is so profligate of them!

As an American who, like most everyone else, am hurting from the increasing prices at the pump, but it's not about OPEC and we won't help ourselves by sticking it to OPEC even if we could.

why not switch your report to the real cause, the collapse of our dollar?  As the dollar becomes worth less, more dollars are needed  to buy a barrel of oil (or anything else for that matter).  The rising price  for oil reflects the inflation here in the USA.  

Beyond that, Asia in general is becoming more affluent, so buying cars which has increased demand for oil.  Meanwhile here at home the tangle of government red tape is preventing development of our own supplies, so the increasing prices merely reflect inadequate supply.

OPEC had serious talks at their last meeting about dumping the dollar and choosing the euro as the alternate.  Their next meeting is coming September 9.  Need I say more?
