I keep my wood lot healthy and refuse all loggers who came knocking at any price. you can be pro-active and donate to Nature Conservancy, they buy up wood land and keep them off limit from loggers.

Some states have laws requiring businesses to plant a certain number of trees per square foot on their property. It keeps new trees growing, and looks much prettier when driving past. I know many companies have now started planting new trees as they cut down the older ones, but obviously, it takes a long time for trees to mature. Unfortunately, there are still many other products we use other than just paper that are made from trees. Until more alternatives are developed, just try to be proactive in your community and make sure to recycle!

What makes you so certain that deforestation is even happening? I'd suggest doing an internet search for the words "deforestation" and "myth".

There are thousands of articles disputing the "fact" that deforestation is occurring. Here's a quote from one of them:

"Myth: We are currently losing trees at an alarming rate.

Fact: We are actually gaining trees. Average annual increase in the size of forests exceeds logging by 37% per year."
