Question:

How can we stop killing earth? Will you be willing to save it?

We have seen how over the years earth has been warming up causing tremendous damages to civilizations due to climate change.

It is a fact! It is not a matter of when it will happen, it is happening now!

Crops are drying, Rain Forests are drying and dying, Seas are rising, Hurricanes are getting worse, and humans dying from really high temperatures or droughts.

What would you do to save earth and the future of humanity? How can we solve this problem?

  1. 3 things, stop using fossil fuels, dont elect another president who has all of his/her money in oil, and stop using nuclerar weapons

  2. First off It is not warming up.  It is coming out of an ice age, definition of ice age being that there is ice on both poles, which is part of a natural cycle.

We are not killing the earth.  Human beings are not capable of causing global warming.  For example:  compare the amount of Carbon emmited by volcanoes and forest fires which are not a bad thing (forest fires are actually required for many trees seeds to sprout, without forest fires we would not have non-deciduos forests) to the Carbon emmitied by humans.  You will find that humans actually do not emit that much Carbon.

It is not damaging civilizations.  Whoever told you that needs to show you the ACTUAL facts supporting that.

I think that people need to be shown the real facts on global warming and CO2 levels.  like take ice cores in the SAME part of the world just at different depths and compare those.

If you knew a lot about past history you would know that there have been periods of warming and cooling and believe it or not humans did not die because of it.

However, there are places like LA and other big cities where People should really stop emmiting Carbon and walk the 2 blocks down the street to the store rather than get in your car and drive.

When you have big cities there are no trees so the earth cannot eliminate any of the carbon in the air.  In big cities Carbon levels in the air actually become dangerous because there are so many people living in the same place.

Also do not ever say we are killing the earth.  I think It has come a long way, by itself, from the molten ball of rock from whence it came.

  3. The real question is how do we prevent the loss of life on the planet.

We don't have the ability to destroy the planet but we can kill most of the life.

But then again it has happen many times in the history of the planet and will continue to do so. But, we are the first species that has done it to ourselves. The real question is how much of our technology are we will to do with out? Because that technology has to be built and that takes energy and resources. As for your DIRE warnings about flooding, droughts and hurricanes. We only have world wide records for the last 2-300 yrs. As for sea levels, at one time you could walk from Siberia to Alaska. As for the rain forests, that one is all man made.

As for the future of humanity, we need to put aside ideology, politics and religion and work together. But somehow I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

And here's why. Those the have not, will want to have an equal share. It doesn't matter what the cost they will feel that they are entitled to it.

  4. Everyone can help buy reducing there own waste and helping in saving energy. Changing your bulbs. shutting of lights that you don't use. We went out last week to sears and bought the old fashion blade mower. Only fuel that uses is your own and its good excercise too. At our house we don't run out to get something, try and do all our errands at one time saves on gas. Everyone can pitch in, but a lot of people out there just dont except the fact that globel warming is happening.  We just have to keep talking about it and coming up with ways we can all do our part it does make a differance.

  5. First and foremost, the earth isn't DYING.  Yes some things on the earth are dying.  Things and people die every single day and have since living things were on this planet.  You have to stop talking with the vocabulary of devastation and start thinking about what you are saying.  That said, what is really happening is we are merely making the earth uninhabitable for humankind.  There will be live on this planet long after all humankind is gone from the surface and our bones are forming interesting sedimentary deposits.

What you have to realize is that there is huge profit in panicing the people into thinking the earth is dying.  Look at the entire environmental industry of which I was and have been a part for the past 28 years.  This industry was started by the government because it diverted the people's attention and created a huge $600 billion a year industry.

Think about it!!!  Is all this stuff in the ground and the air pollution?  Where did it come from?  Alpha Centauri?  NO!  It all came from the earth!  So is it pollution if it came from the earth and is put back into the earth?  NO!!!!  The only thing that makes it pollution is concentration.  Now I am going to bive you a mantra to recite over and over again to calm you down. Ready?  Here it is:

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

So when someone without a brain comes aroud you to stir you all up about how we are killing the earth, just look at them for the do do head they are, and smile and recite your little mantra and calm back down.

Oh, and on a side note, how egomaniaclly selfcentered is it for mankind to think themselves so all powerful that they have the ability to destroy an entire planet any way?  We could detonante, at once, all of the nuclear devices on the entire planet, in the same place, and all it would do is make a big cloud, a big hole (into which water would flow, so you probably wouldnt even see the hole after a year), and kill lots of stuff, but not everything.  10 years later, the earth would be lush and green again and have lots of new species on it and a stable ecology again.....WE JUST AREN'T THAT SMART OR THAT POWERFUL!

So sleep better at night and if you have to, remember, just recite:

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

"The solution to pollution is dilution"

  6. Thank you, this is the best question I have seen yet. Yes, I could save it alone if I had super powers. But I don't. But collectively we, I say again, "WE" can. Every Man, Woman, and Child needs educated about Renewable Energy and how to put it to work. All energy can be free and it doesn't pollute, cause environmental problems, clean, and much safer to use. This would put a stop to Global warming

In the next 10 years, we will not know Earth as we have known it in the past or even today. But summing it up, the whole world needs to work collectively to fix the problems.

  7. We already are solving it. A lot of money is being spend on ways to prevent global warming, ways to reduce it. How you can reduce it? Decrease your energy usage. The easiest thing to do is to replace all your incandescent light bulbs with small fluorescent ones.

  8. First step: people need to actually acknowledge it, considering some people don't even believe in global warming.

    Inform people.

  9. by helping those who are trying very hard, showing the world what is going on right now all the climate change is not just a joke  we have to take it very seriously.
