the best way to stop polluting is education. while in american we have good education (for what it is worth) but africa, south americans, mexico, many asian nations have very littel education, they have no way to understand the enviroment and their affects on them.

in fact in the bible the israelites had to be told to bury excrement. why? because they didn't know the dangers of having it around or putting it on their bodies (which was common medical practice in those days)

many people died young because they lacked basic knowledge of hygeine. even animals instinctivly know to keep themselves and their surroundings where they live clean.

first you must identify what is a pollutant and what is just natural by products. I mean animals pollute ever walk on a trail and step in some nasty stuff? or ever walk past a dead animal after 3 days? Whoa! talk about air pollution.

most products we use are recycleable or biodegradable. I mean I can't think of anything I use that is not. even cars break down in time after all most products we use come from nature. oil breaks down it is a natural by product of plants. what gets my gall is when they throw trash into the ocean and rivers. did you hear about the trash island in hte pacific the size of two texas? mostly plastics from around the globe. the only thing I can think is packaging of plastics as being a bad consumer thing, my meats are packaged in paper, my pop is in plastic I would buy glass bottle pop if they offered to me even if a little more expensive since I like the taste in glass better than plastic and I keep glass bottles for use in my garden and other things.

glass is made of sand. heated of course. believe it or not most of the serious pollutions is caused by mismanagement on the government level and corporate level. ever seen pictures of china? it is really bad the water is green. the people are getting sick from eating fish from there. the governments are the biggest polluters, depleted uranium comes to mind all over the middle east and in the ocean believe it or not, they have documented that in the 70's the amry dumped 400,000 pounds of radioactive weapons into the ocean. they have dumped many other things to, the armies and navies and government agents have left behind tons of waste on islands they inhabit a while then leave, including different used up weapons, shells, barrels with who knows what in them.

so the government can use a lesson or two about pollution control before they worry about the little bit we produce on average that is far less dangerous.

pollution is a catch all phrase with negative conotations. we have to put things into perspective. I say if you throw trash out your car window your polluting, if you throw it away properly and it is put into sites specifially designed for it, your not. I mean I don't like having to clean up my yard throughout the summer because people throw their beer cans and bottles out the window or their wendy's or taco bell bags.

it wouldn't hurt for people to use less fertilizer and pesticides on their gardens and yards. I use very little myself. many times they don't follow package directions and use way more than necessary and the rest goes under teh ground to the water table and circulates causing all kinds of problems if enough of it builds via alot of people using them.

so educating people on the importance of using the least amount of chemicals for anything, being careful to not let it run into the sewer drains or near water that sorta thing. so educating people is the best way to reduce pollution.

and remembering that  most pollution is a natural by product of just living and cannot be eliminated unless you eliminate all life on the planet. you can reduce unatural pollution to a certain extent but you won't be able to eliminate it because people who invent better ways to do things seldom are able to get their products to market because of over regulation and high cost of it plus government interference for products that product little revenue for them or their corporate buddies but is cheaper and more beneficial for us and the planet.

like the guy who invented a machine that produces more energy then takes in and can be used off grid and never have to be recharged or anything, it charges itself simply from it's own motion, but he can't get a patent, it would take us all off the grid and off gasoline too. but they can't have that. they have put so many obstacles in his path he has been fighting for over 25 years to get a patent so he can market it. I guess the patent offices andothers in volved are hoping to come up with the technology themselves altering it a bit to force us to have to pay them a monthly fee to use it. CREEPS!

Protectin the earth is an important responisbility we muz do as the earth is the oni planet tat can within survival,if we do not protect the earth,then hu will?We will hv no other planets to live in if we do not protect our earth :)

We can't. Because people keep changing their minds about what is pollution. 100 years ago CO2 was not pollution because it is a naturally occurring gas in the air that is beneficial and necessary for life on Earth. So we cleaned all the smoke and sulfur and other pollution out of the exhaust of all our factories and cars and then people changed their minds and said the CO2 is pollution too. CO2 is the natural product of any fire using any fuel like wood, oil, coal or natural gas. It cannot be cleaned up. The only way to stop releasing CO2 is to stop using fire. And anyway, people have bodily waste that is considered pollution. So even if there were no technology and even no fire there would still be pollution.
